So, this new Allison Tolman show is actually getting pretty good reviews overall with a 77 on metacritic. I did not expect that at all given the title and the fact that it’s not even mid season but a summer release. The premise still sounds totally stupid to me and I doubt it will do well but I’ll check it out.

*Sigh* I had such hopes for Tolman. Glad that this doesn’t appear to be a trainwreck but still seems pretty ridiculous. Maybe I’ll check out the pilot.

Listening to the TV avalanche podcast and Sepinwall and whoever does it with him are fairly mixed on it.

This wasn’t terrible. Tolman was ok. The dog was annoying. So was the boss. But he was supposed to be. The British friend could be interesting. I didn’t laugh once or even chuckle but I smiled a few times. It’s nice to see Allison Tolman putting so much effort into this.

    my grade: C+

Thought it was ok. Tolman was very good, and I’ve heard some bad things about the voice of the dog, but I thought it worked pretty well.

I’ll check out the next couple episodes just to give it a chance

Give Paul Thomas Anderson an Oscar.

First episode was… okay. I’m not going to watch the show again, and I only tried watching it because Allison Tolman is always awesome.

Like, the dog had, like, too many extragrammatical “like”s in his, like, monologues. I, like, had to delete it.
