I think that this is actually a bit of a revisionist take, which is understandable because she was not nominated and the campaign had other priorities, but she was the title character of the most popular episode of the season: “Dear Mrs. Kennedy”.  Some receipts:

I gotta say that I’m quite shocked with this…People really thought she was going to get in and possibly win?! My god…She was just good but nothing more. I finished the season and I couldn’t have cared less for her. She wasn’t even nominated at Gold Derby awards, wich I think Jane will safely get. And I thought ‘Paterfamilias’ was BY FAR the best episode of season 2, closely followed by ‘Beryl’.

PS: I only started watching The Crown during the summer of 2018 and only started season 2 after the Emmys of that year.

FYC: Jane Lapotaire, The Crown (Drama Guest Actress)
Helena Bonham Carter, The Crown (Drama Supporting Actress)
Josh O'Connor, The Crown (Drama Supporting Actor)
Fiona Shaw, Killing Eve (Drama Supporting Actress)
Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh, Killing Eve (Drama Actress)

I’ go further with Beryl and say it’s the best episode of The Crown ever.

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

FYC Goldderby Awards : MAURA TIERNEY AND DOMINIC WEST FOR THE FINAL SEASON OF THE AFFAIR

This category can be so random, I’m sure there will be a few surprise left field nominees.

Imagine if people predicting Jennifer Jason Leigh in the beginning were right all along! The meltdowns lol.

Definitely not happening though. The Affair really should have dominated acting at least once (and Maura Tierney, Dominic West and Ruth Wilson all should have won).

You misspelled Joshua Jackson.

My Drama Guest Actress predictions and episode submissions, ranked most to least likely to win.

Cicely Tyson – How to Get Away with Murder (“The Reckoning”) (winner)

Jane Lapotaire – The Crown (“Bubbikins”)

Alexis Bledel – The Handmaid’s Tale (“Mary and Martha”)

Cherry Jones – Succession (“Tern Haven”)

Phylicia Rashad – This Is Us (“Flip A Coin”)

Pamela Adlon – This Is Us (“After the Fire”)

FYC 2020 Emmys: Viola Davis (HTGAWM), Cicely Tyson (HTGAWM), Eddie Murphy (SNL)

FYC 2021 Oscars: Jennifer Hudson (Respect), Viola Davis (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom), Glenn Close (Hillbilly Elegy), Ariana DeBose (West Side Story)

FYC 2021 Grammys: Ledisi (Trad. R&B Perf. - "Anything For You")

Who am I? You'll find out soon. Ciao, for now!

Alexis Bledel absolutely needs to submit “God Bless the Child.” She’s good in “Mary and Martha,” but she she has those scenes with her wife and son in “God Bless the Child.”

Emmys FYC - "Unbelievable" and "The Handmaid's Tale" in all categories; Viola Davis in Best Drama Actress for the final season of "HTGAWM;" "Ozark:" Drama Series, Laura Linney (Best Actress) and Julia Garner (Best Supporting Actress)

    You misspelled Joshua Jackson.

Oops forgot about Joshua Jackson. To be honest all four of Jackson, Tierney, West and Wilson should have won at least once and The Affair should have won SAG ensemble instead of Downton Abbey in 2015.

I agree, but I was just thinking if Cherry Jones ends up being a double nominee, she’d submit “God Bless the Child” too, and they’d vote split. Then, if Cicely loses, Cherry would win for Succession, and honestly I don’t want that. Cicely deserves to win.

FYC 2020 Emmys: Viola Davis (HTGAWM), Cicely Tyson (HTGAWM), Eddie Murphy (SNL)

FYC: Michael J. Fox & Gary Cole for The Good Fight

The Good Fight is fighting to be recognized… maybe it never will be, but these 2 actors are big names playing big characters. Fox has always been nominated for this character on The Good Wife so hopefully that translates to the newer series as well. Meanwhile, Gary has built up a lot of goodwill over the years in television with his performances on The Good Wife, Veep (Emmy nominated Guest work) and now Mixed-ish. Hopefully the Academy recognizes him with a nom for this role.

I realize that the great Alan Alda couldn’t score a nom for this series, but I’m still hopeful one or both of these men can breakthrough in Guest Actor.

MJF barely had anything to do in his Good Fight episode and Cole had a reduced presence throughout the season. Would be very weird for those actors to be the first time the show is recognized in a major category.

I find it pretty surprising how Charles Dance is currently in fourth place despite Gold Derby calling him the frontrunner for months now.

I’m still predicting him to win though.

I wish Holly Hunter was eligible for Succession, but I’ll be happy with Cherry Jones for her role. I’d like Cicely or Phylicia to win, even more so Phylicia, as she hasn’t won and I find How to Get Away with Murder is not Emmy quality, just stupid fun. None of the Handmaid actors stood out to me this year. I had to Google who Jane Lapotaire played… :/
