And the combined odds are always right…

But has there ever been a mistake made that resulted in all 6 performers of the same ensemble show being snubbed despite them being in the top combined odds?

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

People are now using combined odds as a reason to why Succession will do well with the acting branch…

Lol you’re literally reading too much into my words. No one is saying the show will do well because of the combined odds. I just was saying that it seems unusual for a show predicted across the board to get shut out (excluding one performer) from the acting categories.

No one is saying the show will get shut out by the acting branch. It’s just bizarre that 7 actors are being predicited when, so far, its actors have failed to impress the industry bodies. I’m currently predicitng 4 actors from Succession, but I still think some of you are overstimating the show WAY too much.

I didn’t say they were… Stranger Things and This Is Us being so low in every category is testament to them being bull*** right now.

I would say that a figure of 4 was where I was at before the supporting category had the number of its nominees expanded. I think it is possible it gets 4 nominees but people who think Cox is like 6th or 7th and are only predicting him or no one to get in are underestimating the show heavily.

I know he was nominated at SAG but does anyone else think that David Harbour could get snubbed? Yes, season 3 of Stranger Things was a big season for his character (although I didn’t care for his ‘development’) but I think it would’ve helped him had Season 4 premiered when it was supposed to this summer. Do the Emmy voters really care about Stranger Things anymore?

The successions stans are losing it! Y’all need to accept this is not GOT, it won’t get 7 acting nominations just because it is the frontunner to win Drama Series.

When nominations generally come out each year, does this place meltdown?

I never understood the hype for Succession on GD. I think Ozark is the frontrunner to win drama series. Everyone I know has been talking about Season 3 of Ozark and I haven’t heard a word about Season 2 of Succession in months.

Oh yes. Nominations morning is epic.

When it comes to Succession and the acting branch, I keep going back to one snub that just doesn’t make any sense to me – Brian Cox at SAG.

Cox is a veteran actor, and he is also on the top of the ballot. Him missing at SAG for season 2 was just baffling to me. And the only explanation for that snub – after it was completely shut out by the actors at the Emmys for season 1 – is that the actors just aren’t here for it.

I am, of course, still predicting Cox, Jones, Strong, and Walter (I’m not sure about the last two). But I just can’t predict any supporting actors… this just reminds me too much of Silicon Valley.

I love how people use SAG to say Succession is not getting acting nominations but then still seem to think Viola Davis and Mandy Moore are ahead of Jodie Comer even though the latter got SAG nominated and both the former different.

Also for people who are saying that Jodie Comer is a one hit wonder who doesn’t have the performance to get a nomination what the f*ck do you think this is?

Mandy Moore is in a show that won 2 times best ensemble and won acting Emmys even before she got nominated, displaying great support from the acting branch over the years. No need to explain for Viola Davis. And I just don’t see the correlation here anyway. If you choose to keep ignoring succession tanked in acting last year and tanked at SAG that’s on you, but dont be surprised most people don’t.

Jodie Comer was nominated for Season 2. Now she is contending for Season 3.

Brian Cox (and Succession in general) was snubbed for Season 2 at SAG and is contending for Season 2 only at the Emmys.

    It’s not the same thing.
