I just noticed that some experts are predicting J. Smith-Cameron over Sarah Snook in Supporting Actress in a line up of 8.

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

FYC Goldderby Awards : MAURA TIERNEY AND DOMINIC WEST FOR THE FINAL SEASON OF THE AFFAIR

There is literally no way on Earth that J. Smith Cameron makes it in over Sarah Snook.

Or Nicholas Braun over either one, or both, of Macfadyen and Culkin.

I’m so torn about Thandie Newton!

It is bizarre how people really didn’t hesitate to drop Comer and Porter in lead but are still keeping Thandie in when her win was longer ago and Westworld has since been totally rejected by the acting branch, plus it came back with a poor and fairly buzzless season in which she herself said she was frustrated with her material. Porter (while I’m sure he’s deserving) has the political atmosphere and is still himself a media presence, even if Pose isn’t. Jodie stuck around for the winter awards and despite a pretty bad season of the show did have her solo episode which gave her some clout. I’m not saying either of those two are getting in, they’re for sure not locks, but I don’t see how you can totally count them out but keep Newton included solely based off her past win. I know its a field of 8 rather than 6 so she’s still a threat but I don’t feel weird keeping her out.

Because it feels wrong for Westworld to go from 5 acting noms to zero. I feel more comfortable predicting Killing Eve to go from 3 to zero and Pose from one to zero.

I absolutely agree. If you’re predicting Newton you should be predicting Comer in your top 6/7.

But as Riley said we saw how House of Cards went in 2017 from 8 acting nominations to three. It’s not impossible for Westworld to go from 5 to 0.

No one said it was impossible. But it feels strange. I can’t shake the feeling that Westworld is just going to overperform once again. I’m not predicting it, but it can absolutely happen.

It’s not getting 4 acting nominations never mind 5 this year.

It’s the pandemic sweetheart. Some people are losing the sense of reality…

FYC Emmys: Helena Bonham Carter (Drama Supporting Actress), Olivia Colman (Drama Actress), Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh (Drama Actress), Fiona Shaw (Drama Supporting Actress), Zendaya (Drama Actress), Alexis Bledel (Drama Guest Actress)

Westworld is not going to overperform when everyone agrees that this season was pointless and a complete waste of time. Even when it comes to the cast, Wood has been singled out as the only cast member worthy of any recognition. Also, two branches have already snubbed it from the ballot…and one of them was stunt coordination.

The stunt snub is honestly worrisome for the show. I’m currently watching s3 and the fight scenes are probably the most noteworthy so far, so if even them are ignored…

Ya’ll are overthinking Thandie Newton yet again. She will not get snubbed.

I love Westworld more than most here… but the fight scenes are some of the worst qualities about the show. The show has never had a single well choreographed fight scene. Noteworthy? I would say cringeworthy.
