I mean two of the three Ozark episodes, Stranger Things, Succession, The Crown, The Outsider, The Handmaid’s Tale and Mindhunter are ahead of it. That’s not even considering things like Homeland, the third Ozark episode or Big Little Lies which also could be ahead of it. I mean that make Killing Eve 8th at best. I do think Comer and/or Oh could sneak in still but there is no way it gets back into Writing, Directing or Series and it probably won’t get back into Supporting Actress.

Big Little Lies is dead in writing. It’s getting nowhere near that nomination after that atrocious submission. I don’t think it’s delusional at all to predict Killing Eve in writing when it has been nominated there for the past two seasons. Not to mention, the most acclaimed episode, of the season, was submitted.

FYC Emmys: Helena Bonham Carter (Drama Supporting Actress), Olivia Colman (Drama Actress), Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh (Drama Actress), Fiona Shaw (Drama Supporting Actress), Zendaya (Drama Actress), Alexis Bledel (Drama Guest Actress)

Killing Eve isn’t invincible in writing even without three episodes being submitted. It should have easily won last year considering it probably was third or fourth in series behind GoT, Ozark and BCS especially when GoT was probably last and Ozark wasn’t even nominated in Writing.

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

FYC Goldderby Awards : MAURA TIERNEY AND DOMINIC WEST FOR THE FINAL SEASON OF THE AFFAIR

Again, this claim that Killing Eve should’ve easily won writing is ridicolous. First of all “Nice and Neat” was nowhere near the best written episode of the season – “Do You Know How to Dispose of a Body?” and “Desperate Times” had better writing – and second, the best written episode of the nominees rightfully won. And if Succession had lost writing, “Holly” (The Handmaid’s Tale) was the second nominee most deserving of the win.
And I also agree that Killing Eve isn’t invincible in writing, that’s why i’m not predicting it. But saying it’s delusional to predict it, is a reach.

I agree Nice and Neat was not as well written as Do You Know How to Dispose of a Body? or Desperate Times (or even You’re Mine) but considering it broke through in 2018 and had a lot of momentum to propel itself to a win I think it should have easily won writing. I mean most of us here (you yourself) were predicting it to win.

In terms of it deserving writing I would have put it fourth (behind Succession, THT and Bodyguard). I haven’t seen Better Call Saul season 4 yet but I am sure it was much better written than GoT.

It will be very interesting this year to see what wins Drama Series if Succession only gets Cox in, Ozark misses in writing and if The Crown only gets Aberfan nominated in Directing.

I was indeed predicting  it to win but, in my defense, I got carried away by the buzz and the boom in the nominations. Also, at the time, I only had watched Killing Eve and Game of Thrones, so that also contributed to my prediction.

I could be wrong but I’m almost certain that Killing Eve was leading the odds.

    Really? That’s crazy.

Mhh the fact that I always predicted Succession and never thought twice about changing it, ugh my mind sometimes

Whilst I’m not disputing the fact that The Morning Show could get multiple acting nominations I just remembered that Laura Linney and Jason Bateman both got in for the mixed reviewed first season of Ozark at SAG when the show missed ensemble in 2018 but only Bateman got in at the Emmys whilst Tatiana Maslany (who got snubbed at SAG) got in instead of Linney.

Killing Eve is not getting nominated by the writers of all branches. They actually do their homework.
