Yeah but a majority of people thought Comer outsold Oh in season 2 of Killing Eve. That’s not the case with season 3 of Ozark where fans seem to be more split.

But are they lol? I’m sure McTeer has her share of supporters but she honestly doesn’t have the performance, imo, that voters would vote for to win. I may be crazy, or in the minority here, but I don’t really see how you watch season 3 of Ozark and vote for McTeer to win the Emmy. A nomination, yes. But a win?

Nah, Pelphrey and Linney outsold. McTeer was great which should easily earn her a nomination and Garner didn’t disappoint either, I guess she was just there. I don’t think she’s winning though this has nothing to go with her costar being nominated alongside her.

I genuinely don’t know how you could watch Ozark and think Garner is “just there.” Her character literally doesn’t allow that to be an option. I think some people need to rewatch this season lol because Garner is just as brilliant as she’s ever been. The bitch wolf scene alone is already iconic.

I mean GD isn’t the Emmys but it’s obviously nonsense for you to say that people won’t vote for McTeer to win when there’s obviously people that find her performance worthy. Don’t know what else to say except that you’re in denial?

I still 100% stand by that I think Garner has a winning role and performance and McTeer doesn’t. I’m actually pretty surprised that most people here think McTeer would take a lot of votes away from Garner, tbh. I also think that some voters are typically lazy and don’t mind rewarding the same actor for the same show multiple times. Garner seems like someone who’s destined to win multiple Emmy’s for this role, imo.

You stated that ‘no one’ who is an Ozark fan would vote for McTeer. I was just proving the fact that clearly isn’t the case when McTeer is leading a poll of Ozark fans asked who they would vote for in the win.

    NGNG McTeer snub.

Well if (in the impossible case) McTeer gets snubbed then I highly doubt Ozark will be strong enough to win Drama series.

Erm, I really don’t know how I “twisted [your] words” but on to the next part. Voters may get lazy but it’s when there isn’t a viable other or heavyweight to get behind, or all out rejection of the competition (which is what happened with Dinklage for the majority of his wins). And Garner only won her Emmy last year because there wasn’t any passion for Shaw and the GoT vote-split (though, I’m not denying Garner had passion either). So, I doubt she has enough support to win another with an acclaimed costar with an arguably better season (or more consistent material) and heavyweight competitors like HBC against her.

    NGNG McTeer snub.

But you’re predicting five acting nominations for The Morning Show?

Garner didn’t only win because of vote splitting and a lack passion for Shaw. For an unknown, up and coming actress like Garner to win there has to be some semblance of passion and support for her performance, which there clearly was. She’s also been nominated at SAG for playing Ruth, which furthers prove that there is passion for her performance.

If you don’t think she’ll repeat or win again, that’s fine. That’s your opinion. But that isn’t going to chance the fact that I believe Garner won’t be heavily affected by McTeer’s presence, in terms of possibly contending for another win.

It’s funny because right now I probably wouldn’t even predict Garner to win, I just think that the reason she wouldn’t win isn’t because McTeer was also nominated.

    NGNG McTeer snub.

I find a Pelphrey snub more likely.

Well I edited my comment saying that I don’t deny she had passion (just for that reason: SAG, etc.) but I guess you started commenting before that. But yeah, I don’t disagree either that McTeer isn’t necessarily the only thing that would keep Garner from winning, albeit it would be the final nail in the coffin for me I guess is the difference.

I find a Pelphrey snub more likely.

Yeah he may have had the showiest material after Laura, but he’s virtually unknown to everyone except Daytime performers. So I wouldn’t be shocked either if she got in but not him.

There was definitely passion for Garner’s performance last year, but the stars definitely aligned for her.

All 3 of Ozark supporting characters have been highly praised for different reasons. McTeer particularly was singled out because of the way she was able to develop her character and to add a certain dynamic to the series. A nomination or even a win would be extremely deserved imo. I consider her a lock on the same level as HBC or Julia Garner tbh.
