Some people really don’t like the sight of women or to have any fun, don’t they 💀 another reason the same 5 people use this site.

Colman still can win. I don’t see any other Lead Drama Actress contender being nominated for the TCA neither

And Claire Foy wasn’t nominated the year when she won.

Foy was actually great in season 2 though.

Foy didn’t need critics, she had two SAGs (and TCA knew that as they try to set the ball rolling for underdogs, like Keri). But critics are all that Olivia has as support and they’ve rejected her twice this year already.

For a while some people have been saying The Handmaid’s Tale is being underestimated in acting and the craft categories because of its three wins last year but the thing is the show won more categories when it was up against The Crown and Game of Thrones in 2018 and failed to even win a category it was incumbent in last year (Editing).

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

FYC Goldderby Awards : MAURA TIERNEY AND DOMINIC WEST FOR THE FINAL SEASON OF THE AFFAIR

We’ll never know because everything that could’ve beaten GoT last year (BLL, THT, ST) moved a couple weeks out to avoid it and that’s affected how their currently performing.

One of them probably could’ve beat it last year. Ozark was probably 2nd in Drama last year and if GoT was eligible this cycle unchanged against Ozark S3, then Ozark probably comes out on top.

Tbh if it got less acting and directing noms than it did with this competition, I think vote-splitting would’ve been less likely and it would’ve taken home both supporting categories and directing, plus it still would’ve swept the techs.  Cherry Jones could also still get in for THT but she’d be splitting with Alexis, leading to a possible Carice or Rashad win. But then again, that Series win would’ve been way tighter.

I remember a year ago people were making early predictions for Olivia to win the Emmy because of the surprise Oscar win. People were hyping her up as the front runner than when people actually watched season 3 of the crown the opposite happened. People found Olivia to be underwhelming rightfully so and Helena stole her buzz. But even Helena who was a frountrunner for a while is losing her buzz with Sarah and Rhea coming up the surface as front runners

I don’t think Colman will ultimately win, however I wouldn’t be mad if she did. But no other Drama Lead Actress was nominated at TCA, so…
