Finally caught up on The Handmaid’s Tale tonight, and all I have to say is: Strahovski is coming. celoewe: ““Yvonne Strahovski as Serena Joy in The Handmaid's Tale - S03E04 ” ” | Yvonne strahovski, Image, Serena

    Hell yes!

I also have Seehorn in… all the way in third place.

Because it’s not happening. It’s getting at least one in.

I don’t know who to take out though. Maybe Snook or Seehorn will face the axe…

Does Stateless just dropping on Netflix help Strahovski for THT at all?

Seeing Better Call Saul fans confidently talking about wins is hilarious. I guess Succession fans have been predicting acting wins all season long so it’s fine.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

And when we predict wins for the show most likely to win them… issa joke!

I don’t think it’s going to help her for the nomination. Voting started on July 2, while the Stateless didn’t premiere until almost a week later. You have to assume that some voters had already turned in their ballots by then, and even those who hadn’t, may not have seen the show yet. And tbh, even if they have, why do we assume they’ll then automatically check her off for THT? If she gets nominated and voters happen to watch this over the summer, maybe it helps her for the win, but that, too, sounds like a stretch.

I don’t doubt Bateman’s win chances. The debate is over whether he actually deserves to win (I don’t think he does – it will be a weak win in comparison to lead actor winners over the last decade).

I don’t if anyone has noticed or felt this way with the FYC ads for Big Little Lies but they’ve been primarily focusing on the show itself, Streep and Dern and not Kidman and Witherspoon. Take for example the two FYC posts on Big Little Lies’s Instagram page  yesterday for example which were both focused on Streep and Dern and not the show, Kidman or Witherspoon.

I was tempted to slot Kidman back into my predictions but now I am not sure.

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

FYC Goldderby Awards : MAURA TIERNEY AND DOMINIC WEST FOR THE FINAL SEASON OF THE AFFAIR

Would voters check off both of them and not Kidman though?

This is what I thought but then again the show aired so long ago. With HBO only reminding people of the show itself and Dern and Streep voters might just remember them. I mean we can pretty much say with confidence everyone remembers Dern and Streep, the same can’t be said for Kidman.

What I don’t understand is how people think voters will check off Moss and Whitford, but not Strahovski and/or Dowd, when those two gave equally, if not more, buzzed about and acclaimed performances. And on top that, their category has 8 slots.

Disparities in competition that’s why. Although I am predicting Strahovski as I don’t see how voters don’t check off the performance a lot of fans think is the best performance in the show.

Moss, Whitford, Dowd, Strahovski and Bledel are all getting in at least.

This my reasoning for predicting Strahovski. I don’t see a voter still liking THT but not checking her off with an unlimited ballot when she is considered by many to be one/the highlight of the show (both performance and character).

How can you remember Streep and not Kidman?

How can you remember Big Little Lies in itself without remembering the person and performance at the center of the premise or foundation of the plot?
