Don’t know where to post this as there isn’t any thread made for it : Naya Rivera’s body have been found today, also Corey Monteith died on July 13. We-

There’s a whole thread for people who have died.

    Out of interest which shows?

Big Little Lies: I know it didn’t submit in directing but it has no chance in writing for its (season) finale.
The Handmaid’s Tale: Seems to be dead in directing and it may split votes in writing which can result as a snub.
Stranger Things: I actually find the season finale deserving for these categories but seems to be on a downward trajectory.

On the other hand, Mindhunter is widely predicted in writing, in fact assumed to be safe, and David Fincher may enter this time.

I know this has already been done but I can’t wait for Brian Cox’s reaction this year when his on screen son and daughter win Actor and Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", AMANDA SEYFRIED FOR "MANK", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

I think Big Little Lies might be being underestimated with the actors branch who I think could propel it into Series. These actors are beloved and I would be very surprised to see the show shut out completely above the line (despite the loss of writing and directing support).

I am inclined to agree about both THT and ST. I am tempted to slot The Outsider in.

Netflix really said we’re done with award shows this year.

with the way they cancel stuff, I really think after the crown they’re fairly done trying to play the Emmy game (but theyll keep it up for the Oscars). They can’t match HBO’s commitment to storytellers with their business model of as much content as possible.

I guess The Crown and Ozark aren’t a thing anymore.

I think Collette has an advantage over Smart, cause they both play similar roles, but Collette gets a lot more to do.

Speaking of Laura and Tom, EW did a nice joint interview with them recently.

I’ve been wallowing in the rather dire nature of world events, but part of me does superficially grieve the myriad group, duo and single photoshoots that will never be.

Or maybe they just don’t care about campaigning for already locked noms and will be really agressive in their campaign for wins.

    My God, thank you.

Netflix received backlash for its aggressive Oscar campaign in 2018/19, so it doesn’t surprise me that they’re toning it down a bit. There are more important things to spend money on than an awards campaign. Let the work speak for itself. Ozark’s campaign is the quality of its third season. Period.
