Before I go I find it funny that two of my favourite Frasier guest stars might win Actress and Actor this year :

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

So I am now halfway through The Morning Show and I’ve got to say so far it’s been an ok show? I mean the performances of the ensemble are excellent (especially Aniston’s and Crudup’s) but the writing is kind of bad? I mean it’s not like Westworld season 3 level of bad but it’s not great either. I mean I understand the inclusion of pieces of humour but after watching both seasons of Succession and Killing Eve the pacing of these moments and the shift between drama and comedy seems a bit forced rather than smooth. I also don’t get why people are so wound up about Reese’s performance because I actually quite liked her and would probably put her third in terms of my ranking of the performances on the show (although unlikely in Big Little Lies where she may have been third and close in terms of overtaking other performers in quality she is nowhere close to overtaking Crudup or Aniston (who are my joint favourite performances in the show so far)). So far I wouldn’t nominate Carell, Mbatha-Raw or Duplass at all (but I am keeping Mbatha-Raw in for now as I’ve heard she gets more quality as the season progresses). Whether I’d personally nominate the show in Series remains to be seen (especially when Big Little Lies, Succession, Stranger Things, The Crown, Ozark, Better Call Saul and Pose are right there).

I’m finding it so difficult to choose between whether I want Aniston, Kidman or Linney and Crudup or Pelphrey to win the Emmy because they are all excellent! Ties across the board please (poor Josh O’Connor)!

Yea honestly one of the weirdest things about the deeply weird The Morning Show is how Mbatha-Raw is practically irrelevant for the first half of the season and then suddenly like out of nowhere becomes VERY important in the second half of the season (during which I should say, she is great)

Were it Westworld season 2 I’d agree that it might deserve to get into Drama Series over some of these contenders but I mean there is literally not a single thing worse than it this year:

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

The Morning Show and Pose weren’t any better. Edit: Ozark S2 was sh** yet it got nominated for best drama series, Westworld 3 can’t be any worse.

At least we got Julia serving in every episode.

Your Thandie Newton pfp was better anyways.

She might’ve still been it had season three not been horrible.

See I mean this gif looks laughable in comparison to the whole second season of Pose (and this is from a better season of Westworld!)

Westworld can never go back to what it was. We thought it might this year, and they’re on a road to being worse than ever before.

I’m still hoping you bring her back. In the meantime, I’ll be praying for both shows to come back to what they used to be if you get what I mean.

Ozark will continue to thrive as for The Crown lets hope the next season improves!

The gif is from Westworld S1 which literally outsold Pose’s entire existence (and its seasons to come)

Pose s1 and 2 more acclaimed than Westworld s1, nice try.

Which show do you think will be more remembered in years to come, the first show about the black transgender and gay community, or yet another sci-fi show that tanked after only one season?

Plssss that’s not what being celebrated means…

I think I’ve realised which previous user you are from the use of this gif alone.

That’s what I supremely dislike about TMS – among other things. They check the boxes with two black supporting characters, and both are used as window dressing for the show and only become relevant when the story has to take a shift.

Sure, I have no doubt that the producer will have a greater role in Season Two, but there wasn’t real “justice” for her when it came to how Alex treated her — and even Alex’s apology was more about her pain and her guilt than anything or anyone else.

I would love for Mbatha-Raw to get recognized, but they didn’t do her any favors with this character.

the more I think about the treatment Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s character the angrier I get. The way that arc panned out and it’s effect on the other characters is honestly kinda disgusting.
