    Cox isn’t a lock either.

I think he is. He’s a respected veteran and previous winner, and aside from maybe Strong, he gives the most acclaimed performance of this year’s contenders and he’s in the frontrunner. I’d be absolutely shocked if he missed.

Since almost everyone has seen season 2 of Succession, which episodes do you guys think the cast should submit?! (I’m not counting guest performances). My personal choices would be:

    • Brian Cox – “Hunting”
    • Jeremy Strong – “This Is Not For Tears”
    • Sarah Snook – “Tern Haven”
    • Matthew Macfadyen – “Safe Room”
    • Kieran Culkin – “DC”
    • Holly Hunter – “Return”
    • J. Smith-Cameron – “Hunting”
    • Hiam Abbass – “Dundee”
    • Nicholas Braun – “Dundee” (?)
    • Alan Ruck – “This Is Not For Tears” (?)

I know not everyone will get in but it’s fun do this game 😁🤭

    I think :

    Cox – Hunting
Strong – This is Not For Tears
Snook – Tern Haven or DC
    Macfadyen – Safe Room
Culkin – DC, Safe Room or Tern Haven
    Hunter – DC
    Smith-Cameron – Safe Room
    Abbass – Dundee
    Braun – Safe Room
    Ruck – Idk and idc

    Not part 16 I-

I wonder if Rhea Seehorn might have gotten nominated last year had Saul aired later.

I just realised how much of a BCS stan I sounded like when saying that (and I am not even one!)

Liked because I almost completely agree with your thoughts on her performance this season alone. The rest…🤐

It’s hard to take this post seriously when the person who wrote has publicity stated their hatred for her on levels both professional and personal many times in the past.

Its not like anyone figured you’d feel any other way about her work.

But still, one of the worst performances in the small screen? Theres thousands and thousands of actors who have given performances on TV that are objectively worse.

Also, before anyone says “Colman stan”, I’m rooting for Linney.

Just saw Episode 9 of The Morning Show. Aniston is winning (my GD vote) by a landslide. That moment where Alex visits Mitch and threatens him WOW!

Also forget what I said about Duplass’s performance he was great in this episode.

I am being quite cautious about both Mbatha-Raw and Duplass. I have a feeling that if a voter saw only the first three episodes the only people they’d check off are Aniston, Crudup and maybe Short and Witherspoon. I think if they saw the whole season there is no way they don’t check off Mbatha-Raw (in the same way as if they saw the whole season of THT they are likely to check off Dowd for “Unfit” alone) and I think despite some of the performances not being great (*coughs* Carell *coughs*) they might check off Carell and possibly Duplass.

The show is getting somewhere in the range of 2-7/8 acting noms but that number depends on how much of the show they get through because I must admit the first half of this show was quite overrated but from around episode 4 things started picking up in pace.

Mindy Kaling is not happening. I mean when you watch the show you’re just like oh that’s Mindy Kaling and it’s a nothing role (although I hope that if she comes back they develop her character so it makes sense that she appears in the show).

I also just saw THT season 3 finale again. Strahovski is happening and if she doesn’t it means THT will underperform heavily (probably only getting three acting nods). I mean if the acting branch doesn’t vote for a performance that is considered more and more to be one of the (if not THE) standout supporting ones on the show then how can they vote for Dowd or Fiennes or Dretzin or Jones? I feel like we keep forgetting that unlike Westworld, Handmaid’s clung on at SAG. It could miss Writing (which would be a shock personally to me) and Directing (which wouldn’t be shocking) but it’s not getting shut out.

Strong is the most acclaimed performance and he is in front, he might enter alone, while I cannot see Cox entering without him.

I try to watch something that she’s in I completely hate the whole thing (The Lobster, The Favourite, Fleabag)

Well, those are 3 of my all time favorite movies/TV. I do not trust anyone who dislikes Yorgos Lanthimos, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Olivia Colman.

Olivia as Queen Elizabeth is probably one of the worst perfomances I have ever seen in the small screen. She is a disgrace in every scene she’s in, she is robotic, wooden, dull and flat.

This feels much more unnatural, I cannot believe that someone can see this performance in that way. Having said that, I do consider it the weakest performance in her career, but even her weakest performance, is a great performance overall.

    I hated her Oscar win

Best Oscar win in the last decade. Period.

I literally said I dislike her in everything she’s in, I don’t hide my feelings about her.

As I said, based on your immense hatred, it was obvious you decided you would hate her performance before you saw it. You were already posting a slew of insults against her on this forum before you watched a single episode of this season.

I went with low expectations but I wasn’t expecting such a poor perfomance.

I have a feeling we’re going to see the acting nominations being dominated by a few shows. My gut goes with Better Call Saul, The CrownThe Handmaid’s Tale, The Morning ShowOzark and Succession. Anything else is going to be filler which is kind of why I have Streep and Dern making it in (I think one of them could miss but I think it’s safer to predict them than other contenders in S. Actress and also than Kidman in Actress (who I keep slotting in and out)), Comer in Actress, Harbour in S. Actor and Rashad and Jones in the Guest categories.

I’m so torn about the last slot in Actress. I think it’s between Kidman, Comer, Oh and Davis but I would be pleasantly surprised to see someone like Moore, Danes or Zendaya slip in.

He (thedemonhog) mostly meant that these dumb posts (I wonder if Rhea etc..) are the reason why we’re already hitting part 16. In case you haven’t got it…

that was the point, but quite frankly who gives a fuck? Is that not the entire point of this forum, essentially months of conversation leading up to basically one day? of course people are overthinking and adding something new (if irrelevant) everyday.  If they didn’t want the threads to be this long there could’ve been moderation to start discussing the Emmys on like May 1st.
