My thoughts on supporting actress contenders (all ranked by likeliness of being nominated): LOCKS: Helena Bonham Carter Thandie Newton PRETTY CLOSE TO LOCKED: Julia Garner Meryl Streep Laura Dern ON THE BUBBLE: Yvonne Strahovski Ann Dowd Millie Bobby Brown COULD BE CONTENDERS: Gugu Mbatha-Raw Shailene Woodley Tessa Thompson Holly Hunter Cynthia Erivo LONG SHOTS: Janet McTeer Samira Wiley Zoë Kravitz Susan Kelechi Watson Rhea Seehorn J. Smith-Cameron Uzo Aduba

Not saying she’s gonna get nominated, but Fiona Shaw should at least feature on this list. She got a nomination over many of these contenders last year

    - FIONA SHAW, HBC

McTeer is supposedly great this season. She’s definitely ahead of Woodley, Hunter, Thompson and Erivo. Probably Mbatha-Raw who would need The Morning Show to be a biiiig player to breakthrough here.

Oops, deleted her name to change her spot and forgot to put her back in. Pretend she’s between Shailene Woodley and Tessa Thompson. Thanks for letting me know about the accidental omission!

The more I think about it, the more I feel like we’re gonna see several ties in Drama this year. Things are so stacked, and there’s a lot of contenders that feel like they’re 50/50.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>The supporting actress field is mad crowded and I guess the fact that it aired last summer bodes against her, but Shailene Woodley had a couple of fantastic episodes in BLL. Jane had far less to do than in the first season and is a far more subdued character than Renata and Mary Louise, but if voters do it fairly and vote for the performance, Woodley could very easily be nominated alongside Dern and Streep.</p>
Also, a lot of these predictions are giving me arse ache…Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Jennifer Aniston, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass and Gugu Mbatha Raw all likely to be nominated for BLL and TMS…but Witherspoon not being mentioned. Come on guys. Reese would NEVER allow it.

I know she’s never been nominated and voters have never been crazy for Better Call Saul, but Rhea Seehorn is becoming more awards-worthy than ever. She’s too good to be snubbed for a show that continues to get series nominations: there must be some hope for her, right?

Amazing performances by Freddie Highmore and Rhea Seehorn in this week’s episodes of The Good Doctor and Better Call Saul. I already gave up waiting to see them at the Emmy, but at least we always have the Gold Derby Awards and the Critics Choice Awards to remember them…

Emmys FYC: Freddie Highmore in Best Drama Actor for "The Good Doctor", Jane Levy in Best Comedy Actress for "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist", "What We Do in the Shadows" and "After Life" in Best Comedy Series, "Ozark" and "Better Call Saul" in all categories.

From early reviews Ozark third season looks like a Wendy-centric one.

Can’t wait to see her…lead actress drama is such a bloodbath.

Thr mandy moore campaign starts NOW. Forget the haters that can’t comprehend her performance was better than kidmans just because she’s kidman. Aniston and Coleman better watch their back, Mandy and Rachel Wood are coming.

Can we please stop talking about Seehorn. If she couldn’t happen in an empty year like last year she’s not happening now.

Which is why there’s a thread for Better Call Saul

People can talk about any performance in contention on here. People have mentioned less likely performance than her’s and nobody complained about that.
