If Stranger Things hadn’t aired so long ago I would think that it might have an outside shot but it’s just one negative too many for it to overcome.

It is also Netflix’s third drama series priority at this point, behind Ozark and The Crown, so it won’t have the full campaign muscle behind it.

It would be a pretty fun nomination morning surprise, though. I don’t think that the quality dipped at all in the third season – it was just as fun and technically proficient as ever to me.

Save for the first episode and some vomit-inducing romance scenes, the third season is the most fun I had ever had with the show. It was also thrilling from beginning to end. And my god they nailed the comedy – especially wirh Erica. I need her back.

The finale probably also has some of the highest quality filmmaking they’ve done so far on the show – am I talking myself into a directing nomination?!

I’ve been singing that episode’s praises since last summer! I loved it. It deserves a directing nom.

I see the issues people have with ST3, and I don’t think it’s perfect, but as a fan I still loved it. Would be great to see it back for directing, Harbour, and series. In a perfect world, Ryder would get her insanely overdue nomination, and I am still keeping my fingers crossed that “The Bite” can be their writing submission because That Robin Scene was just *chef’s kiss*. I agree that Brown didn’t do much this season, but I feel that was more due to lack of material because she did great with what she was given. And she was so good in the finale that while I don’t think I would personally pick her for the lineup, I wouldn’t be mad to see her return.

I just stumbled upon this and died from laughter. Julia Garner is a queen and Ruth is iconic. “Bitchwolf” – I can’t.

While talking about Euphoria, please don’t forget the carnival episode actually deserves to win Production Design but some of y’all ain’t ready for that conversation yet.

Stranger Things may have aired a long time ago, but so has a lot of other series currently being predicted. I don’t think the fact that it is the most popular series right now can be discounted, and with everyone staying at home plenty of people are watching.

I think it’s SAG nom is a good indication it has a chance at being nominated in series again or at the very least it’s popularity among actors may be enough to get both David (with his own individual nom) and Millie nominated again. S3 was Millie’s best performance, and in no way “slight”. She could easily submit episode 4, 6, 7 or 8 with a performance just as good as other contenders IMO. Her range and ability to show emotion is incredible.

As for Ozark, Julia Garner was fantastic but at times felt one note when her communication is just swearing a lot (as much as I love these scenes). And while Janet McTeer was great, I personally don’t see anything flashy enough in her performance, compared to others in contention, to warrant a nomination. Laura definitely deserves to win, she was magnificent, and Tom too although his character annoyed me.

Since I have nothing to contribute to the same conversation happening about the same five shows over and over, I’m thrilled to have any kind of discussion about “Euphoria” here. I just rewatched it last month and it is still so visually pleasing and entertaining. It was so shocking and wild when we had no clue what the show was, but that approach still wasn’t lost rewatching it. It should certainly warrant some technical appreciation, but would also love to see directing and acting nominations. And if I’m honest, it’s at least one of the ten best drama series of this cycle, and probably at least in my top five.

    Cinematography! The carnival episode.

Cinematography: every damn shot! But yes, the carnival episode needs to be their submission. And since the nominees are voted on by a panel, it might stand a chance of getting nominated.

The cinematography is just so damn creative.

This 9 minute YouTube clip breaking down the aspects of the cinematography makes you really appreciate how gorgeous every shot is.

Better Call Saul just had one of its best episodes. Unless if these next two episodes are even better, it’s very likely to be the show’s writing nominee. It would also be extremely deserving in directing, which it could actually score, cause not only is the quality there, but it was directed by Vince Gilligan, and we already saw him make the cut for BCS back in season three. The category’s not exactly open, but last time Gilligan’s direction made the cut, it was a competitive field as well, so I can definitely see him making it. Odenkirk and Banks may have just got their respective tapes for this year. They were fantastic.

If it was directed by Gilligan and is a consensus great episode, I’m going to bet on it getting in.

Euphoria deserves production design, cinematography and makeup nominations 100 percent. This show set trends, influenced fashion collections, etc. The LOOK it created reverberated in many ways culturally, something no other television show has done in years.

I can’t imagine Better Call Saul being left out of the Drama Series nominees after this magnificent episode.

Also, now I dare to believe that Odenkirk and Banks have real chances of winning this year.

Emmys FYC: Freddie Highmore in Best Drama Actor for "The Good Doctor", Jane Levy in Best Comedy Actress for "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist", "What We Do in the Shadows" and "After Life" in Best Comedy Series, "Ozark" and "Better Call Saul" in all categories.
