Reviews may be a bit mixed so far but every single one has acclaimed Jodie’s performance. She’s getting in. Also Jodie’s character is WAY more flashier than Rami’s.

Would it be delusional to put in rami for prediction? I don’t think it would be delusional. If handmaids can be a locked contender for even when we see June not being tied to a hospital bed. Then damn it I have the right to believe Rami can make it. He’s going in ladies and gents.

I think Viola can take the Lead Actress.

    What absolute nonsense.

I have no idea what is going on with Succession. I suppose that what I have right now most follows the trajectory of The Americans and Silicon Valley, neither of which ever got into supporting.

I wonder if we are underestimating how easy it is for Reese Witherspoon to get checked off for Big Little Lies. Most of us have Nicole Kidman and say that I am right about The Morning Show being a big acting player, so she is getting in for that. Then you have two groups of voters actively deciding not to check her off, which flies in the face of my theory about voters going down the ticket generally these days.

I am keeping a positive attitude going in to this season of KE, despite the mixed reviews. I sure hope there is some sort of spark left.

There’s also the fact that she’ll be right at the top of the ballot for half of voters so they’d have to really be immediately deciding not to choose her. But sadly I think there’s an element of her not being perceived as an actual contender for the show anymore like Shailene Woodley.

These other shows are bigger than KE and it’s not like there aren’t contenders to replace her with

That’s why I asked. She’s getting in. Call me silly but it’s happening

But there is also the possibility of enough voters checking her off for both of the shows. I feel like in the end she will accompany one of her costars in the Drama Lead Actress category but I don’t know which one. Right now I’m predicting 5 acting nominations for TMS and 3 for BLL and she is not in either of them. This could’ve been so easy if TMS was a comedy as we all thought before it was released.

Riley has a good point about Reese Witherspoon. The theory about show/name-checking is strong within the current voting system. Especially if both shows get in for Series, it’s hard to imagine she won’t be checked off, too. Which makes me think, if the show/name-checking theory holds, Drama Actress is a category that could exec 6 nominees, and perhaps get up to 8 spots.

It seems so odd, maybe even tragic, for Witherspoon, who has done more to feminist-themed projects on television this year than most have done in the past five years to be largely ignored for her efforts. What are the chances she has three shows in this cycle, and she’s overshadowed by her co-lead (Kidman, Aniston, and Washington) every single time? All three of those women are worthy of their praise, but the cost has been Witherspoon repeatedly put on the backburner. Thankfully, she’ll very likely get a spot in Limited Actress, now that category has thinned out a bit.

I have been saying for a while that Witherspoon will most likely get name checked for The Morning Show. They are not nominated the show in Series, Aniston Carell, Crudup while snubbing her.

My one thing with Witherspoon getting nominated for The Morning Show is that presumably there is a big crossover between the kind of person that watches this show and who watches Big Little Lies. With this, I do not know a single person, online, in real life or a critic, that prefers Witherspoon in The Morning Show to Big Little Lies. As such, if her performance in the latter is actually seen as a non-viable contender to voters I struggle to see how her performance in The Morning Show cannot regrettably fall into the same category when the two performances are listed one on top of the other on the Emmy ballot. Similarly, if voters do really want to vote for her in The Morning Show then they will see her better performance in Big Little Lies sitting right there so can just check them both off.

Accordingly, to me, Witherspoon only gets nominated for The Morning Show ahead of Big Little Lies if Big Little Lies as a show is seen as a weak, dated contender against the fresher, more relevant The Morning Show. In this sense, Witherspoon voters would be able to overcome the disparity in performance thanks to the disparity in show buzz.

Currently, as I’m predicting Kidman, Streep and Dern, I am leaning towards the former argument with Witherspoon either getting nominated for both her shows or neither of them. But I am teetering on the edge with regards to how I think Big Little Lies is going to go down with voters and if I decide to change that Witherspoon will be straight into my predictions.

I can’t believe how very little faith the people around here have about Better call Saul. I was already convinced, but after watching the last episode of BCS, I’m even more. Better Call Saul is with no doubt entering the drama field at the emmys(and with a chance of winning). A show like this, respected by the industry, having his best season so far, I mean it’s almost impossible that it won’t be nominated. As for the last episode I have to say that Vince Gilligan deserves a nomination for directing and both Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks should use this episode as their submission for the emmys. I can’t see a scenario where at least one of them doesn’t win the emmy for his respective category. By the way the last episode of BCS was (for me) the best episode of this show (including all the other seasons) and Vince Gilligan is a genius.

FYC Emmys: Cillian Murphy(Best Drama Actor)| Unbelievable, Merritt Wever, Toni Collette and Kaytlin Dever| Claire Danes(Best Actress) and Mandy Patinkin(Supporting Actor)| El Camino(TV Movie), Aaron Paul and Jesse Plemons| Sacha Baron Cohen(Limited Series Actor)| Ben Mendelsohn(Drama Actor)| Nicole Kidman(Drama Actress)| Idris Elba(Drama Actor)| Better Call Saul in all categories with a special mention to Tony Dalton(Supporting Actor) and Rhea Seehorn (Supporting Actress).

Better Call Saul fans repeat over and over again, every single year, that it’s coming for wins and it never gets anything. I think it’s time you all accept it’s not competitive.

Even when Better Call Saul famously seemed competitive in supporting actor for its first season, hindsight suggests that it was not even the runner-up, given that Ben Mendelsohn won as a ghost the next year.

Is Better Call Saul confirmed to end next season? I could see it having an Americans-esque final run. I do feel bad for the fans.

Next season is it’s last one, yes. I’ve also been thinking it could go the way of The Americans, scoring wins for its lead actor and its writing for the final year.
