Jodie Comer is not getting snubbed this year. Her win last year was passionate. She won’t be snubbed for the likes of Evan Rachel Wood no matter how hard Westworld stans are trying it.

Why isn’t Reese going supporting for The Morning Show? She sits out a whole episode – I don’t think it would classify as any category fraud. Anisotn was the clear lead during the first season. IMO.

The way Colman has GD forums pressed.

But how hard Westworld stans are trying it? It was two post from one person hahaha

And The Crown too. They are treating like the show and Colman weren’t good. Season 3 and Colman was a let down of a terrific season/performance to a great season/performance.

Colman doesn’t even deserve to be nominated and if it were anyone but Colman most of you would probably agree.

Colman was good but The Crown wasn’t really for me. Except the first 3 episodes and the Charles centric, the rest was pretty mediocre/bad. The writing was very weak.

Yeah, no. Colman doesn’t deserve to win (IMO!) – not in this field. And we’re allowed to think that. But I guess we shouldn’t fool ourselves as she might end up walking away with the statuette regardless (eyeroll).

Emmys FYC - "Unbelievable" and "The Handmaid's Tale" in all categories; Viola Davis in Best Drama Actress for the final season of "HTGAWM;" "Ozark:" Drama Series, Laura Linney (Best Actress) and Julia Garner (Best Supporting Actress)

I actually say that if it were someone other than Colman, and she did the same exact performance, the people on here would be much more appreciative of it. Because everyone knows Colman is an amazing actress and a recent Oscar winner, people are much quicker to devalue her work just because great performances are expected from her.

For example, if a bigger name than Tobias Menzies (let’s say Jude Law) played Philip the same exact way, then he probably would’ve been hit with a similar backlash, because as a bigger, more respected actor, audiences would expect more from Law than they would from Menzies.

What a stupid, baseless statement to make. As if people can’t like a performance without being influenced by the actor involved, something that the majority of people outside these forums do feel.

Yeah, no. Colman doesn’t deserve to win – not in this field. And we’re allowed to think that.

And others are allowed to think she is deserving without being dismissed as mere Colman stans.

Of all the shows to launch a war on the fact the people chose the Crown is so ridiculous lmao. Colman is nom worthy, I agree there’s people that should win above her but don’t go overboard. And the season may have been underwhelming but saying it was just bad?? Thaaats a stretch.

Especially with people saying Cri de Coeur was a bad episode lol.

Just face it. The drama series race is The Crown vs Ozark vs Succession.

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

FYC Goldderby Awards : MAURA TIERNEY AND DOMINIC WEST FOR THE FINAL SEASON OF THE AFFAIR

What I really love to see here is that everyone’s like “Everyone’s entitled to his/her opinion,” yet when anyone from “The Crown” or the show itself is mildly criticized that same concept suddenly doesn’t apply – saying that the season was bad is now a stretch and saying that Colman isn’t nom-worthy is exaggerated. What’s the big deal: If someone didn’t like the season or Colman’s performance, it’s their right to say that. After all, everyone her sh*ts on BLL S2 and THT S3, but that’s fine, right?

(I still liked The Crown S3 enough for it to perhaps crack my personal drama series lineup and Colman might make a personal list of 10 or so, so it’s not like I hated either one.)

Of course. I was only speaking for myself 🙂 I’ve been told I use “IMO” too often, so I abstained from it.

Viola only having 1 Emmy for HTGAWM is completely ridiculous. I am not always the biggest fan of her work but she was definitely the best of the 2010s decade for me. She should have at least 3 Emmy’s for HTGAWM.

Luca, I agree with the intention of this but it’s a bit single-minded to think that it’s only the people arguing in favour of The Crown that are ignoring others’ right to an opinion. Just as often we see people who disliked Colman or the show dismissing those who did like her/it as stans or, as above, saying they only like it because of something, implying their opinion isn’t valid. Everyone is just as shit as each other. And it’s great to call it out but doing so in a biased way doesn’t help anything.

Also, everyone shits on BLL and THT but I promise you there’s also plenty of people defending them like there are with The Crown. You just don’t notice because when a show or someone you respect is being rudely dismissed it’s hard to notice anything else. I mean right now I’m feeling like the whole forum hates Kerry Washington just because Jays said something against her on the other thread – but then I remind myself that this isn’t true. It just stings more when it’s your faves.
