Gonna start predicting Brooklyn-99 and 9-1-1 since they also got mentioned just as much as THT in that article

People here take things so literally. All I was saying was that people tend to forget how popular this show still is. I really wasn’t referring to its awards chances – “it’s coming” is nothing to be taken seriously.

Emmys FYC - "Unbelievable" and "The Handmaid's Tale" in all categories; Viola Davis in Best Drama Actress for the final season of "HTGAWM;" "Ozark:" Drama Series, Laura Linney (Best Actress) and Julia Garner (Best Supporting Actress)

Literally no one says THT is doing badly in ratings. And I don’t know what else it’s coming means on a predictions thread.

I need to apologize about something: I have repeatedly criticized “The Crown” season three’s score, and while I stand by complaint that it’s extremely out of place in many scenes and doesn’t deserve to win the Emmy, I’ve been listening to some tracks on their own and they’re actually pretty good (like “Philip”).

I am having a hard time predicting whether or not any Westworld actors will get in other than Thandie for their categories. I don’t think Evan Rachel Wood will get in, but maybe Jeffrey Wright or Aaron Paul might in such a more open Lead Actor category.

Season 18 did just premiere, which had the hyped to death moment of Kim & Kourtney scrapping down and Kourtney quitting. So that’s understandable how people would want to binge beforehand.

    Things that could easily happen:
    Ozark gets five acting nominations
Succession gets zero to two acting nominations
Ozark gets double directing nominations again
Succession gets a single directing nomination again
    – The cinematographers, editors, production designers and sound mixers nominate Ozark again
    – The cinematographers, editors, production designers and sound mixers snub Succession again
    Ozark breaks into writing
Nine other Editors have Succession. One of us should have Ozark, so I have taken the plunge.

I love Succession and I don’t like Ozark, but I agree with you in many points. I could see Cox as Succession only acting nomination. If the show gets a second acting nomination, it will be Cherry Jones or James Cromwell, not Jeremy Strong.

Strong is arguably the most popular character/performance in the show though. People who love the show love him, so why wouldn’t why he get in?

Both him and Cox deserve to be nominated, but Cox is a previous Emmy winner while Strong is a little unknown, despite critics praising his performance in season two. How many performances praised by the critics were snubbed in past years by the ATAS? Strong, in my opinion, willmake the list, sadly.

We are also in a year that three shows are vying to have double nominations in lead actor category (Succession, This is Us, Westworld), which makes harder to Succession to pull a Brown-Ventimiglia situation. In a less competitive year, he would definetely get in.

Like you really sit down and do that?

Is it really uncommon to listen to TV/movie scores? I have some playlists with Game of ThronesWestworldParasiteLittle Women, and others. Also, lots of songs The Americans introduced me to. I have no idea how to find new music, and TV/film is a great place for me to find great instrumental music and great vocal tracks.

The acting branch could not care less for Succession lol. It’d be ironic if it gets 0 acting nominations even though it’s the frontrunner to win Series, but I suppose it won’t come to that. It won 2 Golden Globes so its profile has risen, and it won Writing last year alongside having Series, Directing and Casting nods, so I’m sure many people must have checked it out since then; plus, the biggest of ’em all: it’s HBO.

People keep acting like actors don’t give a shit about Succession, but I think a lot of us are forgetting that SAG was a bit crowded in both Drama Ensemble and Actor. The cast and Cox should’ve made it in, but it’s not impossible to think that they were on the edge. The show was showing strong support, before, but it’s since then that they got big wins at at the Golden Globes, PGA, and WGA, wins that have definitely boosted its profile and buzz, which may have gotten more Emmy voters to watch since then, ones who will now give it their votes. As I’ve said before, the SAG shutout was bad for Succession, but I believe it’s strong enough to overcome that.

The Americans had great music! I found and rediscovered a lot of music through watching it too.

    Yes it is.

It’s really not. I know LOTS of people (including myself) who have study playlists that are made up of lots of movie/tv scores. It’s a great way to be focused and get “in the zone” without the distraction of lyrics. If you’re working on something or studying at some point, I highly recommend it.

It’s just like listening to classical or orchestral music lmao. And nothing wrong with that, right?
