People keep acting like actors don’t give a shit about Succession, but I think a lot of us are forgetting that SAG was a bit crowded in both Drama Ensemble and Actor. The cast and Cox should’ve made it in, but it’s not impossible to think that they were on the edge. The show was showing strong support, before, but it’s since then that they got big wins at at the Golden Globes, PGA, and WGA, wins that have definitely boosted its profile and buzz, which may have gotten more Emmy voters to watch since then, ones who will now give it their votes. As I’ve said before, the SAG shutout was bad for Succession, but I believe it’s strong enough to overcome that.

Actor was not crowded. They even snubbed Billy Porter, the emmy winner. They just preferred to nominate Carell for his razzie worthy performance and Crudup, a supporting actor, over Succession guys. They easily had the chance to sneak in. And The Morning Show was not even that strong considering it didn’t make it in Ensemble. But it was still stronger than Succession, which says a lot.

No? only freaks do that, sorry NOT sorry. But considering the circumstances under which we’re living, imma try and I’ll see…

You just went from saying only freaks do that to saying you’ll give it a try.

Thats more character development then you’ll find on most of the shows were discussing here.

Outside of Carell, all the nominees were well received, and there were other popular performances in play such as Porter and Menzies.

Anyway, the only argument against Succession at this time seems to be SAG, which is not the end all be all of precursors. We’ve seen series do very well there and then go on to do poorly at the Emmys. Also as I said, Succession was still growing then, and it’s still growing now.

Some of you really don’t want to admit that maybe actors just don’t like Succession it’s like a weaker version of Mad Men at this point because at least that could get nominated at SAG (and win).

SAG, plus a general flopping below the line.  The editors and sound mixers are known to nominate and award their favourite shows over ones with showier crafts; the costume and production designers have dedicated contemporary categories.  No single snub is too concerning on its own, but they altogether paint a picture that Succession might be beloved by a few branches and ignored by the rest.  We have seen that before, like with The Americans.

Succession not showing at SAG was bad, plain and simple, but it also dominated the rest of the fall season so much that its buzz is pretty hard to ignore. I think I’ve said this before but it’s just as likely for it to get just Cox as it is for it to get 4/5 acting noms.

No, I am too. He makes more sense to me than someone like Strong, and I have The Morning Show in Series too.

Succession is NOT getting any love from actors lol!

Richard Madden carried that show that I can’t even remember the name, he won a GG and is a very popular name, yet is show made it into series and him was snubbed.

I’m not comparing that show to Succession as the later proved to have support in the industry. I’m just saying Cox and the others aren’t coattailling for the sake of it.

You said you’re not comparing the shows but you literally did compare the shows lol. Madden wasn’t in the series front runner.

Cox didn’t start in the most popular show ever, he has never and will never reach the level of popularity Madden reached, and he certainly will never make Luca cream his pant.

Madden has a name that even Cox can’t compare with even if he’s starring in the series front runner.

Is this trolling? Cox is a more respected actor than Madden will ever be. He’s an Emmy winner and his show is top 3 at worst. His path to a nomination is a lot easier than Madden’s.

Yeah, the idea of Cox not being able to compare to Madden’s name is laughable. Are we just gonna act like every single actor from Game it Thrones is now some superstar? Richard Madden’s character is literally just a less interesting and less popular version of Jon Snow.

Also, how is Brian Cox being uglier than Richard Madden supposed to hurt his chances.

This argument is tired and I wasn’t being mean to Luca. Madden’s snub was shocking, I doubt people will complain about Cox not getting nominated. And please remember that I’m NOT predicting Cox to get snubbed.

People will be upset over Cox being snubbed because he gave one of the most acclaimed performances of this TV season.

And it was honestly disgusting to talk about Luca like that. Nobody wanted to hear you talk about someone on this site in gross, sexual detail.

You’re forgetting that this year is a far more competitive. And right now, Cox is more of a frontrunner than Madden ever was.

I just died laughing. The childishness made me laugh.

Do me a favor everyone: report spam and just ignore it. No need to lose brain cells and waste time on something like that.

Emmys FYC - "Unbelievable" and "The Handmaid's Tale" in all categories; Viola Davis in Best Drama Actress for the final season of "HTGAWM;" "Ozark:" Drama Series, Laura Linney (Best Actress) and Julia Garner (Best Supporting Actress)
