Which Emmy-winning show are you most surprised only won 1 time for Best Drama Series? I included all shows with 4+ nominations (except NET Playhouse, as there is a limit of 10 options in the poll).

    Other one-time winners include:
    NET Playhouse
    Hallmark Hall of Fame
    Marcus Welby, M.D.
    The Rockford Files
    The Waltons
    Alcoa-Goodyear Theatre
    Pulitzer Prize Playhouse
    Robert Montgomery Presents
    The Handmaid’s Tale
    The Bold Ones
    Elizabeth R
    The Fugitive
    Gunsmoke
    Producers’ Showcase

That is not even going to get a third nomination.

Lost being dropped for Grey’s Anatomy is comical.

Why? Look at how long they kept nominating Homeland, Downton Abbey and House of Cards? THT could definitely be that show they just keep going back to despite no one caring about it anymore.

    Obviously NYPD Blue.

Record 4 Directing and 4 Lead Actor wins, 3 Writing wins, and two supporting acting wins. It’s also the 12th most nominated show in Emmy history.

I find it absurd that the Emmys were awarding shows like Picket Fences and The Practice their second Series wins during the same time.

THT is one of the most talked and liked TV shows on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. It made Hulu rich and it gave them relevance and prestige. It gave the book a new life and multiplied his sales. The fact that no one on those forums cares about it, besides Luca, Jjjmoss and me, is completely irrelevant, the real world definitely cares.

The ongoing prestige dramas have real struggle to succeed with big audiences. THT is in top 5 of popularity along with Chernobyl, Big Little Lies, Stranger Things and Westworld. Then there is a huge gap. The Walking Dead, Riverdale, 13 reasons why, Grey’s Anatomy, Outlander and many more are much more popular than the rest of prestige dramas. This popularity will always help THT.

I don’t see a single surprise here, Lost and Homeland were never universally liked after their first seasons. The rest were products of different times, audiences and voting system, maybe with the exception of 24, but that would have never won today.

On a side note, I’m surprised Law and Order: SVU has never been nominated for Best Drama Series.

I agree that there aren’t too many surprises on the list, especially compared to the comedy list, which in my opinion, is full of surprises.
