FYC OSCARS : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. ACTRESS – Carey Mulligan AND ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY — EMERALD FENNELL), VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", ESSIE DAVIS FOR "BABYTEETH"
September 4, 2020 at 7:41 am #1203685894I don’t like this title. It seems silly.
ReplyCopy URLIt's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!
September 4, 2020 at 8:58 am #1203686006Looks like a great partner to Younger.. too bad Netflix will cancel in two seconds. Specially since it’s film in Paris. They will say Covid cost
ReplyCopy URLOctober 3, 2020 at 2:35 pm #1203756799I watched this in one sitting. It was so fun to watch and very bingeable. I can see GG nominating the show and Lily Collins.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 19, 2020 at 5:40 pm #1203789951Came looking for this thread. What a shitshow! Worst thing I’ve seen in years and of course I rage-watched it all in quick succession. Annoyance was mostly eyebrow oriented, also triggering major anti-Americanism, if that was its intent (Ted Lasso does ‘American out of water’ MUCH better).

Another tragedy in 2020.
The irony that I created this thread thinking this show would actually be good and I ended up becoming one of the biggest haters of this show on this site lol.

November 11, 2020 at 1:20 pm #1203829883I didn’t mind Collins but the show was just so irritating.
The only nominations it deserves are costumes and cinematography. That’s it.

November 11, 2020 at 2:01 pm #1203829981The show is so popular among locals that I have to predict Lily Collins in the most basic ceremony there is, SAG.

I think she’s likelier to get in at the Globes than SAG.
Looks like the show wasn’t forgotten after all (unfortunately).

November 11, 2020 at 3:33 pm #1203830173I don’t see Collins happening in SAG. I just don’t it’d be horrible if it did

I have her at both lol. Historically SAG loves Netflix, this was a massive hit and locals are eating it up. Lily Collins is also an up and coming star. This feels like a really shacky prediction right now but I actually don’t see why there wouldn’t be a scenario in which all of this pulls her ahead of someone like Issa Rae that SAG never nominated for a spring show.

If you say so I guess.
I do think she’s locked at the Globes as much as myself and others won’t want to hear it. Easily ahead of Cardellini (still haven’t seen Dead to Me so I’m not really for or against the show but Cardellini probably deserves a nomination more than Collins).
