I just read the previous thread about this and it is really funny how you try to justify your personal opinions attacking the voters, it is really childish. If voters really didn’t watched and made just random picks, two of the greatest and biggest Hollywood legends would’ve been nominated – Pacino and Lansbury. Same goes for the most awarded actresses of last year – Moss and Kidman. Or for perennial nominees like Burstyn or for Oscar winners like Sharon Stone. Voters voted for the things that they watched and liked. None of them saw Little Women, none of you either, so your laments form Lansbury are pretty hypocrite. None of them watched Howards End or Mosaic. I know many people who liked very much The Alienist, and Genius seem the typical show that most of the older voters may have enjoyed, the fact that none of you saw them does not mean that they were nominated solely because of their campaign. Also, they vote by guilds. The writers and the directors did not liked The Alienist, but many others did. Also, many people disliked or did not watched Twin Peaks, but it is not surprising that the directors and writers did, they always have the best and most interesting nominations.

It is obvious that they all watched and liked Versace and Goddless, it is between them. They also still watch AHS, but they do not find Peters a good actor, which is beyond my understanding. Also, Paulson did not only yelled and screamed, maybe many of you only watched the trailers. I do agree that Porter was not very good, but maybe many of the actors disagree, her character was very annoying and hateful, maybe they do think that is difficult to play, my issue with her is that she was not a believable reporter. I have to watch Godless to be able to say more, but Dockery can win, actors from movies never win anymore, so Dern does not have a chance. And Biel was a little bit repetitive in my opinion, also The Sinner under-performed, which was expected with that giant plot hole in the last episode…

actors from movies never win anymore

This is legitimately laughable coming a year after Nicole Kidman won the exact category you’re talking about

I really think Porter could upset. As I said previously, she fits the bill of the overdue working veteran actor that keeps surprising in this system. I have her in second behind Weaver.

Versace, Black Mirror, Criss, Biel, Daniels, Weaver

    Writing: Black Mirror

    Directing: Twin Peaks

I will never predict Adina Porter.

It’s either going to be Cruz or Light, or, very possibly due to vote-split between these 2, Merritt Wever.

It is obvious the user meant TV Movies and your example is laughable cause Kidman won for what is now a Drama SERIES, not a movie by any means.

Going through the nominations and seeing the random directing nomination for The Looming Tower. Did they simply see 9/11 in the title and went for it?

I would have thought that Oscar/Emmy winner Alex Gibney with the premiere had the better chance.

I’m not even gonna bother with this year’s Emmys. These random noms are completely humiliating, degrading literally the value and the prestige of an Emmy. Whoever wins or loses, it doesnt matter, cause the Emmys have just canceled themselves. Yawn.

I can’t imagine Cruz would win. Light is clearly stronger than her right? I think it’s Light vs Wever

I’m surprised to see so many people picking Biel over Dern. I’m not sure if Biel’s even the runner-up.

I agree with you on Light. I have Weaver winning with Porter and Light behind her.

The Tale flopped. Nobody saw it. People saw The Sinner, we know that even though Biel was the only nomination. The Tale was only nominated for actress and movie. It should’ve done better. That’s why I have Biel winning.

The Tale misses out on writing/directing and all of a sudden people are acting like Dern is knocked out of the running. Wtf? She’s obviously still winning. All along it was primarily a lead actress vehicle. Directing and writing prospects were also possible, but never as widely predicted as Actress

Dockery may be in a highly nominated show, but her unmemorable borderline supporting performance only got nominated because she rode the show’s coattails and is nothing more than filler. Falco, Paulson and King are name-recognition fillers in shows no one cares about, and it’s not like Biel is in a show that got a ton of nominations either. Stop overthinking it.
