3- She would be the perfect guest actress but since there’s no such thing for Limited, she might get in for Supporting. We’ve seen worse things happen (Margo Martindale cough cough).

She’s only in 1 episode, she can’t get in. Is she going to appear in more episodes?

Could someone please explain to me how Top of the Lake China Girl is allowed to subtmit as a Limtied series?

With Twin Peaks, I can kinda, sorta understand the excuse, because there is a 25 year gap and it’s envisioned as a one-off revival.

But with Top of the Lake, it’s literally just season 2. There’s no other way to describe it. It is season 2, simple as that. I simply don’t understand how this blatant second season is allowed to be considered a Limited series!

Considering the nominess for limited/movie actress in the past couple of years, this year it looks embarassing.

    Jessica Biel Emmy winner?

Riley already mentioned here that HBO bought the film ‘The Tale’ at Sundance. Amazon were going to buy it as an Oscar vehicle, but then they backed down and let HBO take it, making it an Emmy contender instead. Part of HBO’s pitch was that they plan a big Emmy campaign for Laura Dern, who received rave reviews. With such an open category, it feels like an easy win for her.

I also expect potential supporting nominations for Ellen Burstyn, Jason Ritter and maybe Elizabeth Debicki.

It confuses me so much why Netflix are pushing Daniels in Lead for Godless. Yes, like Dockery, he is borderline so you can push him either way but they are basically stopping O’Connell potentially getting a nomination while Daniels would easily win that barren Supporting Actor category as it is now. I suppose you could argue that they are trying to boost McNairy and Waterston in Supporting but those two are only getting in if this category really doesn’t gain any new contenders and even then it’ll probably only be one of them as the show was only a marginal hit. To top it off, Daniels is competing with himself in Lead for The Looming Tower so could potentially miss for both as a result. So so odd.

Is there anyway you could add the guest categories. I know they are presented at the Creative Arts but I think we all have some predictions already 🙂

Guests can not be entered until ballots are out in June. We don’t have any way of knowing who is actually being submitted, and it takes tons of time entering candidates.

Why do you think Janney won’t make it at this point? I’m predicting a snub for Kemper, her show is fading, while Janney is about to win an Oscar, which will help her gain buzz for the Emmys. If she made it last year, I think it’s safe to say that she’ll return this year too.

Kemper and Janney are pretty interchangeable. I see your point. Janney was a default nominee in supporting and she successfully jumped into lead last year but I’m not sure if she’ll be able to stay in lead when there are new contenders and old ones I think won’t make it (like Tracee Ellis Ross.) Janney’s her show’s only nomination and Kemper’s show still has support, not as much as it had in its first season, but Kemper’s been able to stay in for 3 years.

After looking at the early odds, the supporting actress categories are going to be difficult as is Comedy Series. Drama looks set. I am surprised by the Twin Peaks support since I thought most people had ruled it out at this point. I am happy about this, as I am anticipating it getting nominated because of lack of competition in the category. Also, the Godless love is unexpected. I am rooting for Scoot McNairy for a makeup nod for Halt and Catch Fire.

Double Noms for Michael Shannon, Elizabeth Moss, & Jason Bateman?

Not Shannon in the same category.

No, he’s lead in Waco & supporting in Farenhit 451

lol Comedy Supp. Actor is so bare that Tituss Burgess is leading the odds to win even though everyone knows that’s not happening.

Will British shows that Netflix distributes internationally like Peaky Blinders or Line of Duty ever be Emmy eligible?

Peaky Blinders has been submitting and Netflix has been mailing DVDs to voters.
