Presenters and performers will be added to our list as announced.
Who would you like to see presenting on the show this year? Who are some of your predictions?August 17, 2016 at 1:20 am #1201909039
Outstanding Drama Series:
* Angela Lansbury (2016 is 20 years after Murder She Wrote ended)
* Allison Janney & Martin Sheen (2016 is 10 years after The West Wing ended)
Outstanding Comedy Series:
* Sean Hayes, Eric McCormack, Debra Messing & Megan Mullally (2016 is the 10 year anniversary of Will & Grace ending)
Lead Actor in a Drama Series – I think this will be Bryan Cranston
I used to think that any big movie star nominated would present (eg: Roberts, McConaughey, Harrelson, Damon, Douglas, Moore, Bening, Mirren) but then Barrymore, Ruffalo, Costner and Kidman didn’t. This year I could see John Travolta and Kirsten Dunst being asked. Maybe Travolta would present Comedy Series or Lead Actor in a Comedy after his years on Welcome Back Kotter.
Kerry Washington will most likely be back as a presenter. Kerry Washington is turning into the new Jennifer Lopez of presenting at awards shows.August 17, 2016 at 3:39 am #1201909071This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.August 17, 2016 at 7:11 am #1201909138
Just a few people I hope present an award:
Angela Lansbury presenting drama series
Alan Alda presenting lead actor in a comedy
Michael J Fox presenting comedy seriesAugust 17, 2016 at 12:02 pm #1201909299
Kiefer Sutherland should be a given, considering he’s a past Emmy winner and has a new show debuting on the network airing the Emmys.
Minnie Driver and Piper Perabo also might be there to help promote their new ABC shows.
Kylie Bunbury and Lucas Till might be there from other networks to promote their new shows.
From ongoing ABC shows, Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross really should present something together. And Priyanka Chopra will likely be on stage somehow too.
Bryan Cranston and Hugh Laurie, despite being nominated for dramatic work, will likely get chosen for their ability to be funny too. And Amy Schumer and Jimmy Fallon, regardless of how funny they actually are, will likely be slotted to present something.August 17, 2016 at 1:53 pm #1201909346
I’d like to see Tina Fey & Amy Poehler present a category together. I hope Jon Hamm is also invited as a presenter. Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, Viola Davis, Jim Parsons, and Kathy Bates should be presenters too.August 17, 2016 at 2:21 pm #1201909369This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.August 17, 2016 at 3:56 pm #1201909390
I would love to see Lena Headey and Robin Wright present an award togetherAugust 24, 2016 at 2:34 pm #1201912925
I would like to see Lena Dunham and America Ferrera present a category together after how good they were when they appeared at the DNC this year.August 24, 2016 at 9:46 pm #1201913071
Have Kirstie Alley and Shelley Long present Best Actress Comedy.August 25, 2016 at 7:38 am #1201913218

Bahahahaha, it’s funny because it’s true. I think I heard once that some of these (also Sharon Stone back in the day and Eva Longoria) are “pros” at presenting. Really, does it take THAT much skill that one could be called a pro? Makes me think of the old joke that some desperate celebs would show up at the opening of an envelope. At least Kerry is nominated this year. Heck, with Jennifer Lopez having a show now, she may show up.
I love the Angela Lansbury mentions.August 25, 2016 at 11:40 am #1201913354
According to the press releases, ABC will be airing it live nationwide. Have all four of the networks done this now, or is there still a holdout that won’t show it live out west?
When was the last time it wasn’t aired live to the west, anyway?
