She wasn’t even nominated for This is us, season 1. And when she does get a nomination is for supporting actress, which she isn’t. If Milo Ventimiglia is a lead actor so is she.
But, she is stealing all the scenes not only this past episodes, but season 2 in general. Can she finally be recognized for her work?
Or Elisabeth Moss who lost a trillion times has more chances of winning two in a row? Also, Keri Russell? Maybe? Since The Americans is saying goodbye and hasn’t yet received any love for 5 extraordinary seasons.
Can this be Mandy Moore’s year to be recognized as a serious actress, or neh?
ReplyFebruary 19, 2018 at 5:36 am #1202496806I think she is definitely being nominated, there has been so much buzz this year! As for the win, I still think that’s between Moss and Foy
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 19, 2018 at 6:11 am #1202496812I think that Moore has the nomination in the bag at this point and definitely could win. It won’t be easy, though. Maslany is back in the fold this year. Wright and Foy have the farewell factor in their favor (not to mention that the two SAG wins she has implies that Foy’s performance is the one that actors love the most). Moss is obviously the frontrunner at the moment, but that could change.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 19, 2018 at 6:50 am #1202496831I’m not so sure about Moss winning again. Let’s not forget how this category is with back-to-back winners. In the last 28 years, there have only been 4 women who have won back-to-back:
Patricia Wettig – thirtysomething (1990 + 1991)
Kathy Baker – Picket Fences (1995 + 1996)
Glenn Close – Damages (2008 + 2009)
Claire Danes – Homeland (2012 + 2013)However, even if Moss doesn’t win, Moore still has a battle against Claire Foy. Robin Wright could get sympathy votes for having to deal with Kevin Spacey. Keri Russell is in the last season of her show. As of now, I’m hesitant at predicting Davis and Wood to return, as HTGAWM is aging and I don’t hear any buzz for Westworld.

I wouldn’t count out anything Westworld. The reason there isn’t any buzz for Westworld is because it hasn’t come out yet and the season’s premise is very secretive. When it finally premieres I think it will make a splash.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 19, 2018 at 11:16 am #1202496983I think if we were back in the GOOD days when tapes mattered, she could have a serious shot at winning. However, now that the Emmy’s are basically the Golden Globes, just with more categories, I don’t see her winning. It’s a popularity contest now.

ReplyCopy URLFebruary 19, 2018 at 7:56 pm #1202497179I’d just rather her get nominated because she’s the reason the show has been next level this season. It’ll be a crime if Claire Foy loses to anybody!

ReplyCopy URLFebruary 20, 2018 at 12:04 am #1202497240Yes, Mandy Moore can be nominated in lead actress, and it would be fully deserved. I didn’t think she was lead last season and blew a very easy nomination get in supporting actress, but that’s here nor there. Win talk is tricky when she’s fighting for a first nomination. Claire Foy and Elisabeth Moss are tough frontrunners. There’s always Robin Wright if “House of Cards” returns in time, which I doubt. I’d already bring back Claire Danes. Not as sure about Viola Davis, but maybe voter support continues with her until the end of her show’s run. Keri Russell’s final season is also one to think about. No reason why room couldn’t be made for Moore, especially when supporting roles were parading in lead actor last year in an expanded (and weaker, I know already) field of seven. Voters just have to take the bait. I think they will and she makes it in securely.

She will win for Felicity revival. You know it’s coming.

I doubt that she would have been nominated before Winona Ryder.
