Ah you’ve jumped on the Zendaya train? Could you provide some insight into why?

I am very inclined to predict Jason Bateman because of his The Outsider nomination too but then I find myself quite conflicted because from what I’ve seen people like Sarah Paulson and Sterling K. Brown say Jeremy Strong seems to be the talk of the town (let’s not forget how Paulson predicted Claire Foy’s win in 2018 or how Brown predicted Winkler’s win in 2018 and Comer’s win last year).

I do wonder if every year we’ve started looking into this double nomination achievement too much because of Ann Dowd’s triumph in 2017. I mean after all Laurie Metcalf got nominated for three performances in 2016 (two of which were for shows nominated more than once for acting) and failed to turn any of those nominations into wins.

FYC Emmys : THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, SUCCESSION AND THE CROWN IN ALL CATEGORIES. Tony Shalhoub ("Maisel"), Cate Blanchett ("Mrs. America"), Matthew Macfadyen, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook ("Succession"), Tracey Ullman ("Mrs. America") and Louis Gossett Jr. ("Watchmen")

And listen to our slugfest that’ll be published tomorrow. I also just want Linney to win so badly that it simply can’t happen.

Am I missing something about Bledel?

Handmaid’s has never lost a guest acting race, Bledel is phenomenal in her 5 Season 3 episodes and she’s a past champ. Jones and Walter could split the vote — it turns out Walter’s turn is quite popular — and the other three are all overdue in one way or the other, and I cannot decide.

I’m also not very confident in Linney anymore which is ridiculous considering she should be a lock for the win.

She should be winning in a cakewalk. It’s not even close IMO.

Bledel is a previous winner and she delivers a heartbreaking performance in her submission. And like Luca said, Harriet is way more popular than we assumed and I think she’s going to steal a good amount of votes from Cherry. And both Phylicia and Cicely are extremely overdue but do we know if voters even care?!

FYC Emmys: Helena Bonham Carter (Drama Supporting Actress), Olivia Colman (Drama Actress), Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh (Drama Actress), Fiona Shaw (Drama Supporting Actress), Zendaya (Drama Actress), Alexis Bledel (Drama Guest Actress)

Yeah, but also stats are relevant until they aren’t, the show is fading, being a previous winner actually gives her a disadvantage in my eyes and I’m sure everyone nominated is supposed to have a great performance. I don’t want to sound aggressive, I was just surprised to see her name.

Well, you have Tyson at no. 1, and nothing would make me happier (as mich as I adore Bledel).

I am very torn about Guest Actress. I can see paths for any of the women nominated to wins (even though a Laverne Cox win would be rivalling Cherry Jones’s win last year for worst ever).
