Directing – The GreatDecember 11, 2020 at 8:42 pm #1203913330The Big Bang Theory, One Day at a Time, The Ranch, Will & Grace—what gets the multi-camera slot?
My guess is that The Flight Attendant is on the Watchmen/Hill House trajectory where it goes series for the winter awards, even though everyone knows that it is limited, then it course-corrects for the Emmys.

All of these have ended and/or been cancelled last season so likely none of them
As far as I know, these are all the multi-can shows that have aired in the 2020-21 calendar
- B-Positive
- Bob Hearts Abishola
- Broke
- Fuller House
- Last Man Standing
- Mom
- Outmatched
- The Connors
Guessing the nominee will either be The Connors or Mom
or
Kevin Can Go Fuck Himself (which uses both single and multi-can setups) submits itself in the multi-cam categories, it being Annie Murphy’s first post Schitt’s project gets it buzzed and becomes the defuncto multi-cam nominee.

I doubt they’ll resurrect Mom and The Conners is dead

So i really don’t know, Mom has a better chance indeed.December 12, 2020 at 4:10 am #1203913905Maybe B- positive? It had good reviews and stars Broadway stars.

I’m actually predicting The Conners for the multi-camera slot. It’s the only “big Multicam show” left on network television and I can see a world where Metcalf slips back in (although I’m not predicting her to). It also did have buzz for like two weeks because of it grounding itself in a Covid storyline.
I guess that B-Positive is possible although admittedly I had no idea what it was till it was mentioned on here.

December 12, 2020 at 9:19 am #1203914418For the time being I’ll predict The Neighborhood seeing as it is directed by Mark Cendrowski (aka the reason the rule came in)

I feel like Ted Lasso could end up doing what Veep did and get multiple nominees in both Comedy Writing and Directing but lose both categories due to a vote-split but still win Series because it’s a strong show with passion.
Very intrigued to see if Amazon have a Comedy push here in the Spring. Truth Seekers seems so buzzless (and I say this as a fan of the show!) that I can’t see it get into anything outside of technicals (it deserves to win Sound Editing and Sound Mixing although let’s face it The Mandalorian has those categories locked). However if Amazon run a campaign it will be tempting to predict Kelly MacDonald in Guest Actress because I can see her get a name-check nomination, the category is empty and I doubt SNL submits more than 5 performers in each guest category.
