The BBC announced the day after Hulu announced.
FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")
February 25, 2021 at 10:53 pm #1204062244Normal People didn’t announce its premiere date until the end of March
At last year’s TCA they did release a trailer and said it will come out spring which they did none for the great or NPS.
March 1, 2021 at 11:24 am #1204074448So there isn’t a clear favourite between Fanning and Cuoco…

March 1, 2021 at 11:49 am #1204074561Hulu didn’t mention The Great & Only Murderers in a recent premiere haul for dates, assuming they won’t make the eligibility period in time?

March 1, 2021 at 12:45 pm #1204074779Cuoco still has the SAG and CC noms over Fanning.
Jennifer Aniston had SAG and Globe noms over Zendaya. Steve Carell had a SAG nom over Jeremy Strong. Sandra Oh had a Globe win, CC and SAG win over Jodie Comer.
The point isn’t that Cuoco can’t win (I hope she does because I prefer who to Fanning) but more that Fanning is still in the running for the win (if her show makes Emmy eligibility). She hasn’t suffered a loss to Cuoco to kill her and she won’t suffer a loss because she missed at SAG and CC. Considering how The Great is a stronger in Series than The Flight Attendant and how Fanning has a narrative as being a younger actress and a sort of “rising star” narrative.
I don’t think Fanning will win. In fact I’m not sure if The Great will get into Series. But the fact Kaley lost the Globe helps her because her chances haven’t really been “totally killed”.
I do think the person this helps the most though is Cristin Milioti for Made for Love.

March 1, 2021 at 1:11 pm #1204074858Jean Smart is coming to collect her stuff
March 1, 2021 at 1:23 pm #1204074896I’m so hoping Made for Love is good because the situation that seems to be shaping up is PERFECT for Milioti to rocket to the front of the pack.
March 1, 2021 at 2:33 pm #1204075012Not Netflix’s remakes of Euphoria and Gilmore Girls ending before they even begin. First Grand Army and now this lol.

Someone from SNL we haven’t seen yetGUEST ACTRESS:
March 2, 2021 at 3:15 pm #1204077694Guest Actress is an interesting one. Could this be finally Kristen Wiig’s year? She has a lot of buzz because of Barb and Star and I guess her Razzie nominated turn in Wonder Woman 1984 lol? I think she definitely is a lock for a nomination.
Regina King should never be underestimated and I also think Adele may have a shot too. She obviously isn’t as well respected as Eddie Murphy but just like Murphy, people who didn’t watch SNL tuned in to watch that episode. Non Cold Open sketches went viral and her turn was quite well received.
If Maya Rudolph goes guest though then the race is over lol.

March 2, 2021 at 3:27 pm #1204077733Honestly, even if Rudolph is there, I think Wiig wins. She has six nominations for the show so far, a whopping four of which in supporting, still the second-highest count in supporting after McKinnon. While her episode was definitely not the buzziest or most exciting, this just feels like the perfect time for people to say “Sure, let’s toss an Emmy to Kristen Wiig.” Which is honestly I think was Rudolph’s bigger factor last year. Larry David missing out last year says to me that they weren’t massively into the big celebrities impersonating presidential candidates; they were much more eager to reward Rudolph for being Rudolph than her actual performance.

True.
I mean, she was literally nominated for a better performance against herself, but voters clearly just aren’t into The Good Place.
