Considering we’ve split off into Drama, Comedy and Limited threads already I thought it would be interesting to discuss the creative arts categories here as there seem to be a lot of baity creative arts contenders already.

October 6, 2020 at 5:56 pm #1203764489Cobra Kai’s success is truly amazing. A web series that gets picked up and becomes a smash. It was almost like the show was counted out but became a true hit. If they get Hilary Swank, I’d die.
ReplyCopy URLOctober 29, 2020 at 5:57 pm #1203810248The Queen’s Gambit better be all over period costumes and styling. Her affinity for fashion is literally a plot point. The hair do for the final episode? flawless, I was so jealous. Her outfits across the board? also flawless. A delectable show.

March 30, 2021 at 11:11 am #1204166161Will The Mandalorian even be eligible for the Half-Hour categories? Only 4/8 of its Episode (Heiress, Siege, Tragedy, Believer) meet the requirement of being under 40 mins.
Can they submit to both Hour & Half-Hour?
ReplyCopy URLMarch 30, 2021 at 2:51 pm #1204166594It should be fine. Their average runtime is just over forty minutes, but hour-long is considered forty-one and up.
ReplyCopy URLApril 2, 2021 at 5:48 pm #1204172697Interesting things to note from the Netflix submissions released today:
Bridgerton is going full in on the creative arts. They have submitted in choreography and stunts. They have submitted 4 editors, 1 cinematographer and have submitted in Main Title Design but have not submitted for Emmy nominee Kris Bowers’ title theme song. That being said they have submitted in Music Supervision.
As mentioned in the Drama thread Nina Gold is no longer credited for casting The Crown. Other than that their submissions so far (as with last year they haven’t listed everything so far) seem to be the same as last years. Including a lack of a makeup submission.
The Queen’s Gambit are going full Watchmen and have submitted in Main Title Design (in spite of there not really being a big title sequence) and Original Music and Lyrics (I can’t recall an original song but I assume it will be one like the Maisel one last year).
