    The Nevers has wrapped filming.

    https://www.hbothenevers.com/post/the-nevers-wraps-filming-on-season-one

Looks like there could be Anderson/Corrin vote-split potential after all (Olivia Williams coming for her revenge after Olivia Colman steals all the roles she should have had lol?).

One thing that makes me a little worried about The Nevers is that Joss Whedon is not the most popular person at the moment after all the controversy surrounding the behind the scenes of Justice League. But I imagine that people will ignore it if it is a great series.

This is why I don’t see it winning Drama Series (that and what I said about the trend of dysfunctional family focused or shows with dysfunctional families winning) over The Crown but if Olivia Williams gets buzz she seems like she’s the only person who can cause Corrin and Anderson to vote split. If she doesn’t get buzz then def. one of Corrin and Anderson will win (poor Sarah Snook she could have easily gotten a win this year but oh well maybe in 2022 she’ll finally win).

I do love Olivia Colman and she should have an Emmy by now, but can she lose momentum again?
    Jennifer Aniston rise?

It depends on what happens with The Morning Show season 2.

She might have a better chance this year if she wins the Oscar for The Father as it can give her a boost. The irony that Colman’s awards performances are in films being with “Fa”. She should probably submit Fagan or Favourites in that case then lol.

Fagan and Favourites are top notch acting, you can love or hate Olivia Colman, but the girl can act the hell out of a scene.

Also, I’m excited for new blood, looking forward to The Flight Attendant, The Nevers, even if it’s possible, The Gilded Age and so on.

Olivia deserves to win this year. The scenes with her and Anderson were FIRE.

    I doubt Kaley Cuoco wins.

I didn’t mean win, I’m just excited to see new contenders.

Is there any reason to think The Nevers will be much of a contender at all? Genuinely asking. Then again this field gets weaker by the day

    J. Smith-Cameron has confirmed she’s back filming so I’m guessing the principle cast (or most of them) have returned to filming too.

I just realised if Succession is indeed going to air in the summer that it might benefit a lot because of The Crown not being eligible for the 2022 Emmys (as The Crown probably will this year if Succession misses) provided Succession s3 is acclaimed. I feel like both Succession and The Crown share fanbases (I’ve noticed this online with lots of Succession fan accounts also doubling as The Crown fan accounts) so the absence of one can only help the other (I’d say the same thing about GoT benefitting Succession when it finished and even The Crown s2 when it had momentum).

Maybe in 2022 Succession does end up breaking The West Wing‘s record after all? Obviously it’s like a gazillion years away before we can start to predict but it is interesting. Poor Ozark.

So the interview is in French but Denis O’Hare has confirmed The Nevers WILL air in the Spring.

HBO payed a lot of money for it after facing a huge bidding war with Netflix, is from Joss Whedon (although that can potentially hurt it more than help it now lol) and the principal writing team of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (who haven’t worked together since Buffy/Angel ended), it is taking the sci-fi/fantasy show in the Spring slot that GoT and Westworld had and whilst the cast aren’t A listers or massive film stars it is a good cast of both vets and rising stars they’ve assembled (e.g. Olivia Williams, Denis O’Hare, Nick Frost, James Norton).

I highly doubt it wins over The Crown because it’s not exactly a show with a dysfunctional family at the centre or themes of family like Breaking BadGoT, Succession, Ozark and The Crown were/are but it could end up being HBO’s big push and therefore a big contender (unless it flops like Run did).
