I don’t know exactly how I feel about Small Axe tbh. I love Lovers Rock with all my heart and Education and Mangrove were good, but I don’t care about the other movies at all.

With loud criticism of “THEM” being it’s torture porn tendencies, and now that being applied to S4 of “Handmaid’s Tale”, I curious / worried to how this could affect “The Underground Railroad”.

Emmys FYC | Alan Tudyk in “Resident Alien” | Billie Piper in “I Hate Suzie” | Ego Nwodim in “Saturday Night Live” | Kaley Cuoco in “Harley Quinn” | “Dickinson” | “P-Valley” | “Pose” | “Superstore”

If The Underground Railroad flops it makes limited series more interesting. I have Mare of Easttown in 5th because I think it’s a show the actors branch will gravitate towards. However none of It’s a SinSmall Axe and The Undoing feel strong enough to break into series (although I’m predicting them above the line in other categories) and whilst I’m excited for it, I get the feeling (I could be wrong of course) that Halston will be a McGregor vehicle like I Know This Much is True was a Ruffalo vehicle. The only difference is I anticipate Halston will be more crowdpleasing due to being more escapist and that it will land a few tech nominations.

On the other hand it would make Actress infinitely more boring because I’d probably slot in Nicole Kidman and my best odds in that category after the 100/1 I have on Mbedu are 30/1.

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

Barry Jenkins’s subtle direction will probably avoid that.

The trailer for The Underground Railroad doesn’t look like it’s gonna show torture for fun, looks like a rebellion from the slaves, might have some early scenes about it but i think that’s it.

I think it’s safe, but anything could happen in this crazy year.

    For Your Emmy Consideration:
Matthew Rhys for "Perry Mason" | Ethan Hawke for "The Good Lord Bird", THE GOOD LORD BIRD in ALL CATEGORIES | Elizabeth Olsen and Kathryn Hahn for "Wandavision" | Tobias Menzies for "The Crown" | MJ Rodriguez for "Pose" | Jane Levy for "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist"

Watch how if The Underground Railroad flops, Christine Baranski gets nominated in Limited/Movie Actress for Christmas on the Square instead of Nicole Kidman and Cynthia Erivo lol.

Emmy voters: we want escapism this year
Industry: gotcha, here’s a sports underdog story and a tribute to sitcoms
    Voters: more escapism.
Industry: a montage of Aretha bops and two pulpy HBO whodunnits with huge movie stars?
Voters: too depressing. ooh a Dolly Parton Christmas musical
