In what world did Genius Aretha get 10.5 million viewers. I know no one that watched it. I never saw it trending on Twitter and if that was true, I would of seen articles everywhere saying the viewership records. maybe they combine all the previous Installments in viewership. I see Erivo getting nomination just as name check Bc of subject. the only time I got Aretha from her was the last episode

You just underestimate how many people sleep while watching NatGeo. That number includes me.

If Amazon’s FYC event schedule is indicative of anything then it looks like they’re submitting everyone eligible from the 5 Small Axe films.

    https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/amazon-prime-video-emmy-fyc-panels-events-2021-1234964004/

If they all go supporting we could get 7 slots.

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

I understand why people are high on Genius (it arguably fits the mould of shows that perform better with the industry than the gp) but the show literally has no buzz. At least something like Fosse/Verdon had some industry hype beforehand because Sam Rockwell just come off of an Oscar win and another nomination and the show had the likes of Steven Levenson, Joel Fields and Lin Manuel-Miranda actively campaigning the show. Michelle Williams had a tonne of critical buzz for her performance. Self Made had some audience buzz. How many people know there’s another season of Genius?

Erivo can theoretically happen but if any show is the “industry buzzed limited series” of this year that isn’t a zeitgeisty hit that gets into series, it will be something like Small Axe or It’s a Sin IMO. And even then neither are guaranteed. Vance is not happening and whilst Erivo is still in contention, she’s no sure thing with members of Franklin’s family lobbying against the show due to no consultation during the production and casting process.

OCTAVIA SPENCER WAS NOMINATED FOR THAT LIMITED SERIES AND I’M PRETTY SURE NOT EVEN HER FAMILY WATCHED THE WHOLE THING. ERIVO CAN HAPPEN.

She’s Octavia Spencer, the series was 3hr30mins in total length (ie finishable in one sitting) and had Netflix visibility.

    Dear Emmys Voters

Television has never been better and it’s a pandemic year.

    Be bold, not boring.

OKAY? CYNTHIA IS LITERALLY A TWO TIMES OSCAR NOMINEE AND A TONY WINNER.

    The all caps are annoying.

And Cynthia Erivo is definitely not as big a name as Octavia Spencer. Not saying she can’t get a nomination but it won’t be because she’s a huge name.

I won’t predict Genius but i won’t be shocked if it gets Series + Erivo.
    That’s all I’ll say.

    For Your Emmy Consideration:
Matthew Rhys for "Perry Mason" | Ethan Hawke for "The Good Lord Bird", THE GOOD LORD BIRD in ALL CATEGORIES | Elizabeth Olsen and Kathryn Hahn for "Wandavision" | Tobias Menzies for "The Crown" | MJ Rodriguez for "Pose" | Jane Levy for "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist"

The irony though that someone who is so reckless when it comes to the spread of a deadly virus stans a show that features some characters who are reckless when it comes to the spread of a deadly virus lol.

Why is Inventing Anna still in the predictions center if Netflix has already announced what’s coming out this month?
