Lydia West is definitely a category fraud, I agree. She’s absolutely a co-lead alongside Alexander. Keeley Hawes should be the one on that panel. The unforgivable erasure.

I don’t feel Lydia West is category fraud in Supporting – Olly Alexander feels undoubtedly the lead, but I’d even argue that Callum Scott Howells and Omari Douglas are leads too based on the first ten minutes where each of them get their introductory snippet.

Although I don’t think it’s gonna happen (unless the Actors Branch goes gaga like they went over When They See Us),,If this goes on,we may be looking at a surprise acting nominee for Mare of Easttown…

I’d love to see Sosie Bacon or Enid Graham getting a nomination.

I love them too but that’s too much. I don’t think they were that good to be nominated (partly because they don’t have much to do). Jean Smart and Julianne should rightly get nominated.

I’ve seen Michelle Williams’ win used as precedence for a Winslet win but is it weird that I feel like Jharrel Jerome’s win is one that is more comparable to a potential Winslet win (baitier performance from a show with more acting support winning over the lead performance of the series winner)?

We don’t really have any evidence that MoE has more acting support than TQG, though. Again, TQG got Camp’s minuscule and frankly unremarkable performance nominated in the combined field at SAG, which is like the ultimate show of actor’s support.

And though Jerome was recognizable like Anya (due to Moonlight and The Witch), WTSU really felt like his big star breakout, just like TQG was for Anya. Winslet is obviously not the hot new kid on the block.

I’m not saying Winslet can’t win, but Winslet and Jerome aren’t really a good comparison.

Emmys FYC: Maya Erskine in PEN15, Paapa Essiedu in I May Destroy You, Keeley Hawes in It's a Sin, Carl Lumbly in TFATWS, Cristin Milioti in Made for Love, Elizabeth Olsen in WandaVision, Billie Piper in I Hate Suzie, Hailee Steinfeld in Dickinson, William Zabka in Cobra Kai
