After watching this crossover, I will particularly be mad if Viola and Cicely are snubbed. Both gave their best performance of the series in this season and it’s been such a powerful season for Annalise. And Cicely does so much in the scenes that she is in! In a perfect world more guest stars would get recognized like the woman who played Jasmine in 4×02 or Glynn Turman or even Jimmy Smits!
Just please don’t overlook them! Is there anything us fans can do? Because someone needs to tell ABC to submit Kerry and Viola for the crossover too.
Emmys 2019 FYC: Lena Headey ("Game of Thrones"), Cicely Tyson ("HTGAWM"), Viola Davis ("HTGAWM"), Richard Madden ("Bodyguard"), "Bodyguard," "The Haunting of Hill House" & "Escape at Dannemora" in all categoriesMarch 3, 2018 at 4:37 am #1202504611
Tyson should submit the premiere. That was her best episode of every guest appearance.March 3, 2018 at 4:58 am #1202504632
I 100% agree!! And if Kerry does make it as well, they will see Cicely in both episodes which could benefit her. Considering she made it in last year, she should this year.

I definitely agree that How To Get Away From Murder should get more acting nominations for the following:
Viola Davis – Lead Actress
Liza Weil – Supporting Actress
Jimmy Smits – Supporting Actor
Cicely Tyson – Guest Actress
Glynn Turman – Guest ActorMarch 3, 2018 at 12:34 pm #1202504868
While there is no doubt Kerry and Viola were great, especially this crossover. But they are no match for Claire Foy or Elizabeth Moss plus with the category being as stacked as it is people like Christine Baranski won’t even get it. This is no way Viola Davis or Washington gets in.March 3, 2018 at 12:57 pm #1202504874
Oh, I meant submit Kerry and Viola in guest, which ABC has confirmed they will do.
And I actually disagree with you. I think Viola is just as good as Elisabeth Moss and Claire Foy. All three of them give breathtaking performances.

Oh please Viola is a match for either of them any day, in any capacity. Kerry was great as well! Viola really brought out the very best in her! Also, I know there’s a first time for everything, but Viola has not missed an emmy nomination since the show’s inception. Even last year, when she missed out on SAG & Globe nominations, so that shouldn’t be used as a huge marker against her. Also, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but, I don’t think Christine Baranski is EVER going to be in danger of receiving a lead actress nomination for the streaming spinoff of The Good Wife.
I knew what you meant though, @Luca Giliberti. The fact that ABC has already confirmed them pushing both Viola & Kerry in guest as well tells me there will be a nice campaign for both of them, and i’d say a great shot at at least one of them getting in.March 3, 2018 at 9:06 pm #1202505240
Viola has a number of episodes that would make award winning submissions. Viola should have won for her submission from season two where she loses her baby. That was a devastating performance and should have won her second Emmy.March 4, 2018 at 7:17 am #1202505485
Viola Davis is a perennial nominee for her show until its ineligible due to them ending it.March 4, 2018 at 8:31 am #1202505563
Please the only reason she was nominated last year was because of her Oscar win. Kerry Washington is no match for Claire Foy yeah she’s good but she’s on a show that has as much chance of receiving a nomination as Greys Anatomy. I don’t think Christine Baranski has a shot at being nominated that’s the point she is literally an Academy Favorite in a role they love and they are passing her over. Plus let’s not forget about shows like Big Little Lies. As it stands they take two spots followed by an onslaught of final season for Keri Russell, Robin Wright, and Tatiana Maslany. Not to mention the high profile performance Mandy Moore is giving. Even if you look at guest shows like The Crown, This is Us, Handmaids, and Big Little Lies have both Guest Actor and Guest Actress stacked. This cross over will be a footnote when nomination time comes around.March 4, 2018 at 8:56 am #1202505581
Submitting them in guest would seem to be a flagrant violation of at least the spirit of the rules – I would have to do some digging to see if it actually violates the rules. I don’t support this idea.March 4, 2018 at 9:03 am #1202505590
If Washington and Davis submit guest, I wonder if Ross and Anderson will submit guest for Grown-ish too.
