I think Phoebe-Waller Bridge should win over JLD or Rachel Brosnahan really should win over her. But I’m tired of JLD winning every year for Veep and the Emmy Voters should give a new winner this year. But I hope Rachel Brosnahan would repeat and beat JLD.

Ok so now that I’m done with Barry and that I don’t plan on watching any other nominated comedy, here’s my official ranking of the nominees I’ve seen in all major comedy categories (with gifs and pictures cause I’m this extra):

    Comedy Series

    1) The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

    2) Fleabag

    3) Barry

    4) The Good Place

    5) Schitt’s Creek

    6) Russian Doll

    Comedy Actress

    1) Rachel Brosnahan – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

    2) Catherine O’Hara – Schitt’s Creek

    3) Phoebe Waller-Bridge – Flebag

    4) Natasha Lyonne – Russian Doll

    5) Christina Applegate – Dead to Me

    Comedy Actor

    1) Bill Hader – Barry (he’s so good in this it’s ridiculous)

    2) Ted Danson – The Good Place

    3) Anthony Anderson – Black-ish

    4) Eugene Levy – Schitt’s Creek

Comedy Supporting Actress (this category is insane, i’d be okay with any of the top 5 winning)

    1) Sian Clifford – Fleabag

    2) Betty Gilpin – Glow

    3) Sarah Goldberg – Barry

    4) Marin Hinkle – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

    5) Alex Borstein – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

    6) Olivia Colman – Fleabag

    7) Kate McKinnon – Saturday Night Live

    Comedy Supporting Actor

    1) Tony Shalhoub – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

    2) Stephen Root – Barry

    3) Anthony Carrigan – Barry

    4) Henry Winkler – Barry

    Comedy Guest Actress

    1) Kristen Scott-Thomas – Fleabag

    2) Maya Rudolf – The Good Place

    3) Jane Lynch – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

    4) Fiona Shaw – Fleabag

    Comedy Guest Actor

    1) Rufus Sewell – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

    2) Luke Kirby – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

    Comedy Writing

    1)  Fleabag – “Episode #2.1”

    2) The Good Place – “Janet(s)”

    3) Barry – “Ronny/Lily”

    4) Russian Doll – “Nothing In This World is Easy”

    5) Russian Doll – “A Warm Body”

    Comedy Directing

    1) The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel – “We’re Going to the Catskills!”

    2) Barry – “Ronny/Lily”

    3) Barry – The Audition

    4) The Marvelous Mrs Maisel – All Alone

    5) Fleabag – “Episode #2.1”

This lineup is pretty stellar honestly I love all the nominees so don’t come at me if one of your fav is low in my ranking.

Feeling like Fleabag could match the win total of eight that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel got last year.

There’s no way any comedy show is sweeping this year. I would be really disappointed if that happened.

    Rachel’s post from Drama Thread:

I just updated the list. Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Sian Clifford did a FYC Emmy interview event this morning.

I’m planning to change few predictions later ( mostly pro Fleabag) but I wanted to see first how those next few weeks will look like when it comes to media presence, buzz and FYC campaigns.

This is some serious buisness from Amazon. I was impressed before the nominations (Phoebe was everywhere) and I’m impressed now.

Sian Clifford rising in prominence just takes more votes away from Colman. Neither are likely to win because there are strong arguments for both. Support won’t be lopsided for one over the other.

Here is the list of nominees campaigning I posted in the Drama thread. I’m going to post the list on this here as well so we all can keep track. I will be updating this list as more of the nominees campaign:

Margaret Qualley – Jimmy Kimmel 7/24 and James Corden 8/1

    Julia Louis-Dreyfus – Jimmy Kimmel 7/31

Milo Ventimiglia – Jimmy Kimmel 8/2, Seth Meyers 8/5, Live With Kelly and Ryan 8/7, Watch What Happens Live 8/7, TODAY 8/6, Ellen re-run 8/13

Michelle Williams – Seth Meyers 8/6

Betty Gilpin – James Corden 8/7, Watch What Happens Live 8/13

Jared Harris – Stephen Colbert 8/7

Phoebe Waller-Bridge – FYC EMMY EVENT 8/6, Jimmy Fallon 8/7

Sian Clifford – FYC EMMY Panel 8/6

Natasha Lyonne – Daily Show with Trevor Noah 8/7

John Oliver – Seth Meyers 7/29

Jimmy Kimmel – Live With Kelly And Ryan 8/13

Gwendoline Christie – Live With Kelly And Ryan 8/13

Amy Poehler – Live With Kelly and Ryan 8/14

Kit Harington – Live With Kelly And Ryan 8/16

Bill Hader – He will appear most likely in the last week of August which is also the last week of voting but to promote IT: Chapter Two but will most likely also promote Barry. He did a TON of campaigning right before voting started in April and May and appeared on Conan, Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Stephen Colbert, Live With Kelly and Ryan, Watch What Happens Live, FYC Emmy interview with the cast of Barry. So he did most of his campaigning prior. Ellen will air him in a re-run on 8/7 and Conan on 8/12.
LIVE WITH KELLY AND RYAN 8/22

Amazon and Phoebe Waller-Bridge have proven themselves to be serious campaigners this year. While I still don’t think they’ll sweep, this will absolutely help them win Comedy Series.

Except Colman hasn’t been campaigning at all and while she’s been nominated before, she’s never actually won an Emmy. Clifford is doing herself a favor by attending these events.

Goldderby, can you please try and get an interview with Sarah Goldberg? She needs a platform.

Yeah, I mean, damn. Amazon is REALLY campaigning hard. Whosever in charge of this campaign trail deserves a promotion.

I still think Barry could be their biggest threat if HBO put in the effort. Bill Hader needs to start promoting his co-stars. They already did a FYC event prior to the nominations but they all need to be put on a platform like RIGHT now. Amazon is not messing around.
