And she directed this episode as well. She’s always been great but the premiere of the final season might be her best acting on the show. Truly sad that the CW leading ladies (cause Rachel Bloom is another amazing showcase) never got recognition outside of the Globes.

Say what you want about the HFPA, but they always have they finger on the pulse when it comes to televison.

I watched Betty Gilpin’s episode tonight and wow was she good. She and Goldberg in the tape system would both be fighting to the death for the win. They both have winning tapes. If ever there was a category that deserved a tie on Emmy night it’s this one. Wouldn’t be upset if Clifford (also great) or Chlumsky (avoided the dreaded 0 for 6) were involved in a tie. I do sincerely hope Gilpin gets a fair shake from the voters despite her show not being up. She was that good.

I hope the other 4 don’t win. MCkinnon and Borstein have been take care of. And voters can give Borstein voice over. Hinkle’s role is just too plain for me. And Colman is a guest (still great) but wait for The Crown.

Pretty please voters. A tie in supporting actress between Gilpin and Goldberg or Clifford or Chlumsky.

Campaign update: Phoebe Waller-Bridge Goldderby interview 8/12

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQzVfTE2JBs&t=9s

Once again, come on Goldderby, get ahold of Sarah Goldberg for an interview. She needs a platform. I’m sure she’ll agree to do it.

OK I’m not really sure I have a point here, but something I just can’t wrap my mind around is the Andrew Scott snub for Fleabag. I mean voters clearly watched the show, they nominated Sian Clifford for christ sakes who is a complete unknown in the US. Andrew Scott meanwhile, is a bigger name (slightly), had a more prominent role, and was possibly the single most acclaimed thing about the season after PWB herself. So how do you watch this show, love it enough to give it 11 nominations, and not nominate Andrew Scott? Does that mean love for the show isn’t as intense as it looks, and people just liked the idea of voting for every female castmember? Was supporting actor just too competitive? What I’ve started to wonder is did some people feel like he was a lead this season (not a huge stretch) so didn’t want to vote for him in supporting? It’s just hard for me to wrap my head around whether this love for fleabag is real or small but loud when so many small things about the show got nominated when the possibly single most acclaimed thing about the season didn’t? Can someone explain it to me? lol

Maybe people didn’t look too closely and thought he would be in the lead category? More likely is that the passion for Barry just vastly outweighed the passion for Fleabag and the three Barry nominees knocked him out, which is part of the reason I’m predicting Sarah Goldberg.

Natasha Lyonne and This is Us cast are doing a lot of campaign. Sorry for the amateur question, but who’s  responsiblef this whole campaign thing? The networks or the actors PR Team and etc??

This Is Us is taking advantage of the fact the HBO has done absolutely no campaigning for any of their shows, including Game of Thrones. However, if Emmy campaigning was like Game of Thrones, Phoebe Waller-Bridge would win that iron throne. She knows her main competition is JLD and she is not going down without a fight. However, more people should be talking about a potential upset by Natasha Lyonne. She’s extremely well-known and respected in the Hollywood industry and she’s campaigning just as hard as PWB.
