Catherine O’Hara is number one in my book – she elevates every scene that she is in and her facial expressions are priceless.

My favorite part of O’Hara’s performance is all the weird inflections she does

I agree soooo much! I love how she says David. I also love her use of the term disgruntled pelican.

For people trying to tell me JLD doesn’t deserve another emmy

I think Veep is winning series lol. Idk, just gut feeling. Maisel is threat too. I feel like Barry and Fleabag will vote split af. JLD is undoubtedly repeating. I don’t think they ever really cared for Chlumsky in order for her to win now, but I do think it’s her vs Goldberg vs Borstein.

She doesn’t. No one deserves seven awards for playing the same character. I believe there should be limit of winning Emmys for it. Three should be enough.

There shouldn’t be a limit, if someone is giving the best performance in their category every year, they should win every year.

I personally think Julia Louis Dreyfuss is going to win. However , I will be fine with anyone in category winning. They are all great and still some great performances were left off.

That category is perfection . I wouldn’t be mad with any of them getting the Emmy.

samething can’t be said for other categories…

Matt Roush, formerly of TV Guide, now of TV Insider on Carden’s snub:

“And who am I to argue? I imagine the organizers of the Emmy nominations announcement earlier this week were also surprised, as they chose D’Arcy Carden to be one of the two presenters—and it’s often a nice moment when one of them gets a nod. (But the Outstanding Comedy and Writing nominations are hardly small potatoes, and bravo to Ted Danson and Maya “the Judge” Rudolph in the guest category.) There’s no question Carden gave a virtuoso performance in that episode, and is a delight in all of the others. But the supporting category is so crowded this year that eight nominees qualified (suggesting very close voting), and with multiple nominees from Fleabag and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, plus a first-time nod for Barry’s Sarah Goldberg and one last chance for Veep’s Anna Chlumsky, there was even only one slot for a Saturday Night Live performer this year (the inimitable Kate McKinnon). A few of the choices are a bit suspect—and may have more to do with name recognition or the notoriety of a particular program than the actual performance—but what it often boils down to is that I imagine many of the voting members just didn’t see this brilliant episode. Which is a shame, and an unfortunate blind spot.

That category is perfection . I wouldn’t be mad with any of them getting the Emmy.

One person’s ‘perfection’ is another’s ‘pick from 6 different brands of poison’, all of which are lethal.

I’ll get MURDERED for this but imo Phoebe doesn’t deserve to win any acting award for Fleabag. Don’t get me wrong, I think she is a genius and I’d give her writing in a heartbeat. I would even be okay with Fleabag taking series but PWB is a distant 4th for me in her category behind JLD, Rachel and Catherine.

There I said it please don’t kill me.

    GIVE LENA HEADEY HER EMMY

JLD is a LOCK for Actress. The series didn’t perform as well as people thought it might. I don’t think it will win series (I think Maisel will), but I do believe since everything JLD has gone through to make this final season, they will make sure she is victorious and the most decorated performer in Emmy history! I think Rachel Brosnahan and Phoebe Waller-Bridge will have next year to duke out who will win, if Fleabag comes back for a 3rd season. But for now, I think Rachel is behind JLD. Who knows with Veep, it could possibly win series and HBO sweeps the entire night on Comedy (also with Barry) and on Drama (Game of Thrones)

Agreed except she’s behind Lyonne too.

I was more responding to the notion that she doesn’t deserve to win for acting (although I do disagree as well with your placement of at least two others above her)
