Julia Louis-Dreyfus won’t be stopped. She gave one of the most memorable performances of all time and they will reward her for it. Also, it’s Veep‘s last year and she just beat breast cancer. Not only does she really deserve the award, but the optics are perfect for her. Veep itself, on the other hand, had a pretty weak season that fans probably didn’t love in spite of the critical acclaim. I think it’s a race between The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Barry – Fleabag has a chance, too, but that’d make me very happy and the universe can’t have that.

• Series is between Barry and Fleabag
• Lead Actor is Hader’s with a possible upset by Danson
• Lead Actress is Dreyfus vs Waller Bridge
• Supporting Actor is Shalhoub vs Arkin
• Supporting Actress is between Borstein, Colman and Goldberg
• Fleabag is taking Writing
• Barry is taking Directing
• Guest Actor is Mulaney’s
• Guest Actress could go to anyone

I think Series is a 3 way race with Maisel included. Veep won’t win much except for Lead Actress and possibly Supporting Actress (highly doubt tho)

I dont think that is how a vote-split works lol.

This has been a recurring problem in the forums lately.

I have no confidence in Chlumsky, she gives off some major Christina Hendricks vibes.

I haven’t seen Fleabag yet, so that is why I don’t have Olivia Colman winning. But once I watch it soon, it might change my mind. Right now I think Borstein is winning, Colman in second (for now).

Once you watch Fleabag you will see Sian Clifford should win, not Olivia Colman.

I don’t get the overconfidence in Colman at all. U really think they’ll blindly go for the recent Oscar winner? She’s great in Fleabag but Clifford has a more nuanced and protagonistic role and simply Colman is one of the least deserving to win. Borstein is repeating. Unless Barry sweeps. Goldberg is very much deserving but there’s something that just prevents me from predicting her. Also I can’t see Maisel winning from nothing to just Shalhoub.

Yeah we know they watched Fleabag so there’s no way Colman wins. If they award a Fleabag supporting actress, it’ll be Clifford.

BTW I just watched the first episode of Barry and loved it so much.

Yeah, I really can’t see Colman’s winning. They obviously watched the show considering a no-name actress with a a great performance like Clifford got in over the likes of Carden, Metcalf or Jones/Bryant from SNL. This category will actually be a nail biter until the name is called, and it’s awesome because I’d love to see any of them win! I love Chlumsky, but that Hendricks comparison feels spot on. I don’t know if Hinkle is strong enough to take enough votes away from Borstein, but I also feel like the combo of the split and Maisel passion slipping makes a repeat less likely. People are loving Barry, but I have seen some backlash to the Sally character in a real Breaking Bad Skyler type of way. I feel like she’s too new to get the win, but that’s purely a hunch and I feel like she’s actually got a shot. And McKinnon can’t be counted out but it feels like her glory days are behind her. So shoot, I guess I’m predicting the one actress in the category without a series nominee, feels off, but who knows! Realistically, I think it’s between Gilpin, Goldberg, Chlumsky, and maybe Borstein.

I feel like Glow still has a lot of support. Not enough to get into series but with this category still up in the air, maybe all those supporters will rally behind Gilpin and push her to the win. I’m betting on a Borstein repeat though.

Gilpin winning would make this an all time great emmys, let’s hope it happens.
