Because the pitch-perfect series finale of the Americans isn’t eligible. And GOT could split the vote in directing and Handmaid’s might just be that “safe choice.” Daina Reid was also nominated at DGA.

Also Holly is such a perfect submission among the orphans episodes of s2 because you exactly know which one it is.

It seems you’ve got it opposite.

I don’t know if GoT will split votes in Drama Directing. I know Iron Throne is the finale but Long Night is the most hyped, overwhelming favorite and a directorial marvel (despite its bad lighting)

I am confused for why did D&D submit Iron Throne for Writing and not Long Night?

Also Holly was a very good episode. I don’t mind it winning writing.

    Best/Worst case scenarios:
    Sandra Oh/dragon lady

    Billy Porter/king who knelt

    Sophie Turner/queen killed by rocks

    Jonathan Banks/kingslayer

Holly/the one where bran is king

Holly/the one where arya knows a killer when she sees one

    What are you talking about?

It would have been a terrible writing winner let’s be honest.

I didn’t have the gut to predict it, but I still think THT is winning writing or directing. It will be one of the wtf wins of the night.

    And Kit.

    Not exactly.

Battle of Bastard won. It was a battle episode and the hype didn’t make anyone question its decision.

There might be many plotholes in overall story for what happened in Long Night. But the episode writing still had a good chance. Unlike Iron Throne, which received sever backlash and the writing being abysmal.. no one would have been questioning Long Night’s win

    And Kit.

Kit doesn’t deserve. I can still digest THT winning

I kind of want that to happen just to see the perfect gifs people will use here. These threads never disappoint when it comes to that.

Emmys FYC - "Unbelievable" and "The Handmaid's Tale" in all categories; Viola Davis in Best Drama Actress for the final season of "HTGAWM;" "Ozark:" Drama Series, Laura Linney (Best Actress) and Julia Garner (Best Supporting Actress)

Imagine the gifs if Sophie won..

    They would be iconic.

I actually love Sophie and think she’s great, but a win for S8 would be wrong on so many levels.
