Ok, Jones may not win, but let’s be honest, Whitford is taking this in a cakewalk.

Emmy voters must bend the knee to Lena Headey & Emilia Clarke for "Game of Thrones." It's their last chance to award them. Make it happen.

Out of curiosity, how would that be a “Jon Cryer-style win”?

I’m guessing their both “awwh you had so much to deal with much this season, here’s an award”, win.

For absolutely doing nothing as well? Well, I agree because the category has no competition and is frontrunner-less. Only (Ron C.) Jones could upset, but I don’t think he’s repeating. I’ve seen people claim Angarano (is that how it’s spelled?) is the most deserving. Is this true?

Since we’re talking about Bradley Whitford I just wanna say his win for Transparent is one of the best guest wins in recent memory.

I like him too tbh but Angarano is better imo and 2 Emmys for this role seem a bit much

I think Whitford is very deserving; Commander Lawrence is the only interesting male character on the show. As for Angarano, he’s very deserving, too, although I’d argue that Griffin Dunne, who played the older version of Jack’s brother, should have been here too. If Cephas Jones wins again, I will lose it.

Is bodyguard season 2 going to be a reboot and a completely new threat, with some of the same characters each season,  like 24 or later seasons of homeland?  Or is it going to be completely serialized from season to season like the first three seasons of homeland with Brody?

Darlings, the fact that this is an Emmy-nominated performance… I have to laugh:

LENA HEADEY hasn't got an Emmy for Game of Thrones????? Emmys you need to win her right now!!

Lena Headey ("Game of Thrones") for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

If Lena Headey doesn't win the Emmy, I'm leaving GoldDerby forever.

In my literate opinion Kit Harington more than deserved his nod. He’s been the best thing from GOT since the beginning. More natural and better than all the show’s supporting actress nominees combined and much more impressive than Emilia Clarke. He deserves the Emmy. Eat it.

I love being a literate person.

    Unpopular opinion:
I gave up Game of Thrones on season 2.
It wasn’t for me. But the technical aspects of the show are amazing. I gotta say that. So it doesnt surprise me the amount of nominations. Most of them pretty well deserved.
The cast is amazing. But I feel like the characters aren’t THAT amazing. They were pretty “one dimensional”. Some exceptions are Cersei and Tyrion, they had a few ‘layers’ and for me were the MVP of the show. In conclusion, Lena Headey and Pete Dinklage deserve the nominations.
Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington are good actors… but they were so many better performances (although I have not seen the last season of GOT – I got to admit- but for what I’ve seen during 2 seasons).
I mean … Cody Fern in American Horror Story: Apocalypse, Kingsley Ben-Adir in The OA, Bill Pullman in The Sinner, Stephen James in Homecoming, Richard Madden in Bodyguard. Anyone of them could replace Harrington.
And when it comes to Emilia… I mean…. Mj Rodriguez in Pose, Elizabeth Olsen in Sorry For Your Loss, Brit Marling in The OA, Sarah Paulson in American Horror Story: Apocalypse, Julia – FUCKING – Roberts in Homecoming. I watch two episodes of The Good Fight… and it was enough to know that Christine Baranski would also be a better choice.

And then almost the entire category of supporting performances are filled with contenders of the same show. Which ‘bothers’ me. Not only the GOT actors, but also in the comedy categories. I mean… shouldn’t the Academy be more diverse? It feels like everyone only watched 5 shows for each type of shows (comedy and drama).
I know this will happen again next year with BLL… but it will only be in one category “Best Supporting Actress”… and because they were all outstanding (Meryl, Laura, Shailene and maybe Zoe).
I hope that the GOLD DERBY TV Award will be more diverse when it comes to TV shows and performances.

I am going to predict Angarano. As for guest ladies, it’s up in the air.

Angarano actually seems like a pretty reasonable contender. There clearly is a lot of love for the show itself, so a repeat from Jones or a new crowning of Angarano are both extremely tangible.
