I honestly don’t know what to do about guest actress…

Oscar FYC - Lupita Nyong'o & Elisabeth Moss ("Us") - Best Actress & Supporting Actress. It must happen; otherwise the Tethered are coming.

I really think people (including you) are overestimating Jones. THT’s dominance in this category was primarily because those roles were basically supporting, and those characters had their own separate storylines. I really don’t see enough voters ticking off Jones for a win. By September we will see whether the fact that Rashad is emmyless has become enough of a talking point to get her a win.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

Yeah that makes sense. As much as I love Tyson & Lange though, I just want van Houten to win so badly.

I think it will probably be Rashad or Jones.

Jones isn’t happening for a character nobody can remember.

I’m sure you know that an important thing to consider is that van Houten and Rashad are the only nominees in series contenders. Lange has the name and performance but I doubt voters will be particularly eager to give AHS anything.

Jones may as well be in a series contender

Yes, but that (and the fact that she’s Cherry Jones) is all she has going for her. That is not enough to get more votes than all of Rashad, van Houten and Lange.

Really? I never thought of it that way

I almost always get guest wrong so who know but I’d say it’s either overdue Rashad or they vote the GOT ticket down the line and go with Van Houten. Jones has an outside chance given how popular both she Handmaid’s Tale still are but I actually don’t really think Lange is in the running for the win. There are way too many AHS super-fans on here that they skew the perspective when it comes to those contenders. It hasn’t won a major award since 2014 and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

Who is most likely to win for Drama Guest Actor: McKean (Better Call Saul) or Cephas Jones (This is Us)

Given how well BCS did in the nomination phase (and the fact that I am currently predicting it to win writing and lead actor) I think it would make sense to reward McKean.

This is Jessica Lange nominated for an iconic role that made her sweep back in 2012. It’s different.

Even though a lot of people are disappointed by this nom, I am glad that Alfie Allen got recognized. His character was one of a few that their arc was successfully completed during the final season.
