No one’s going to trash something they’ve worked on for almost a year, especially in public. There’s no way we can gauge how much they loved/hated this season.

Actually two came to mind off the bat:
    https://screenrant.com/criminal-minds-mandy-patinkin-quit/
Chevy Chase, Community: stating that the show was “a f*cking mediocre sitcom” — a form of entertainment he considers to be the “lowest.”

Ehm, just because some cast members publicly said they loved the season doesn’t mean they really do, lol. And a lot of them actually said there weren’t satisfied: Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey spcifically. Yes, people like Turner and Waldau are siding with D&D, but that also doesn’t mean they 100% liked the season. I think they just have tremendous respect for all the work that was put into this season..

People are allowed to have specific issues with the season, as do I (I don’t think the season was 100% perfect as well) and that what most of the people you mentioned were doing, they never said they are not happy with the season as a whole.

That being said, I agree with Mukund that we can’t absolutely be sure to know what the cast thinks. What I was coming against on my post is that ludicrous claim that surfaced online that the “cast has been warning us how awful this season is in advance”, which I call complete BS because it never happened

Darlings, if tapes matter Lena Headey has the best one amongst the GOT ladies, only Giant Christie would be a decent rival. Jumping Girl isn’t winning for jumping and Redheaded Turner had no tape this year, sadly.

As a famous singer said, "ain't nobody gonna Thatcher, Thatcher, Thatcher!"

The actors also want to keep their careers. D&D are pretty influential in the industry and have a lot of pull. I wouldn’t want to say anything bad about them…

Waldau is someone that I’m certain is feigning being on D&D’s side. He’s been very vocal in the past about how he wanted Jaime to develop into a better person, and has also done little to hide the fact that he’s a Jaime and Brienne shipper. I can’t imagine how heartbroken he must have been seeing that Jaime sheds of so much of his character development, and ultimately leaves Brienne for Cersei. Much like many of the other cast members, I have a huge amount of respect for Waldau since he still gave a fantastic performance despite his character being ruined. In my opinion, the only character assassination worse than Jaime’s was Daenerys’.

Conleth Hill is a good example of an actor that’s also flip-floppy about his feelings towards Season 8. You know he was disappointed in the season. He later retracted the statements he made…Hollywood is a scary business. I mean look at the cast of The Last Jedi… only Mark Hamill had nothing to lose by talking negatively about it.

    lol.
Not only he was not “heartbroken”, but he was cited several times saying he loved the conclusion his character got and that it was totally in line with his character development. Which he is right of course. People love to throw the “character assassination” argument on D&D ever since Stannis. It’s fugazi… Doesn’t exist

I think that’s what Luca was referring to when he said Nikolaj is siding with D&D actually.

And that was also what I was referring to when I said people make assumptions on what the cast must feel because they absolutely have to to align with the internet “consensus”

Wasn’t aware Hill retracted his statements, but I doubt there’s a single person who believes he’s being truthful. Some of the actors barely hid their disappointment, but Hill didn’t even bother hiding it at all. I’m fairly certain that D&D have no power in the theatre community, so Hill, being more prolific onstage than onscreen(excluding Game of Thrones), will be fine.

Not that any of this speculation really matters because we’ll never, but I think Headey, Clarke, Harrington and Hill all have issues with the season, whereas I figured Waldau is actually steadfast in his faith and D+D after his ridiculous “media-let hate campaign” comment at Comic-Con. I mean, speaking of saying the wrong thing in Hollywood, Waldau better hope he isn’t in a controversial situation anytime soon, because the press will not be on his side after that stupid comment.

I think people are missing my point, as I already says pretty much everyone has some degree of specific issues with this season, and considering it is the final season of the most popular show in recent memory it’s hardly surprising.

But having issues is not the same as thinking the season is bad. The internet made it a habit to include the cast members of the show in the hate-wagon of the season.. and that’s what I’m against

That was Conleth Hill that said it was “Media-led hate” not Nikolaj. Being at Comic-Con for that panel, everyone was pretty disappointed in him.

Waldau may have said that, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that he truly feels that. D&D are powerful men. Just because he doesn’t work for them anymore doesn’t mean that he wants to piss them off. If you look at this clip, when asked about his reaction to Jaime’s ending, he takes a very long and awkward pause before claiming that he was pleased with it. Granted, he goes into more detail afterwards saying why he liked it, and it’s definitely possible that I’m seeing something that’s not there. But his reaction just doesn’t feel like it’s coming from someone who likes the ending.

Oh wow, thanks for clarifying. I don’t know why I thought it was Nikolaj, completely ignore my previous post then. That makes Hill even worse, not only did he make a small jab at D+D but then also dumped on the press that was merely reporting on feelings he himself had somewhat admitted to??? Not a fan of that at all.
