The Game of Thrones thread seems to have closed so I’ll post this here. Kit Harington just announced that he will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe: https://deadline.com/2019/08/kit-harington-marvel-movie-next-game-of-thrones-1202703013/

It’s very likely that they’ll make him a hero, but I’d honestly like to see Harington as a villain.

Now I’m hearing a lot of rumors that Harington might be playing Wolverine. The more I think about it, the more I can actually see it working. Much like Wolverine, Harington is short (the character is 5 ft 3 in the comics) and ripped, and Harington’s work on Game of Thrones has shown that he’s capable of portraying an absolutely brutal fighter. Of course, anyone who tackles that role is gonna have to absolutely nail it, cause people aren’t gonna forget about Hugh Jackman anytime soon.

Seeing these two win on Emmy night would be the best thing ever. Just imagine their reactions… they’d be so shocked. I guess I can at least dream.

Emmys FYC - "Unbelievable" and "The Handmaid's Tale" in all categories; Viola Davis in Best Drama Actress for the final season of "HTGAWM;" "Ozark:" Drama Series, Laura Linney (Best Actress) and Julia Garner (Best Supporting Actress)

    I think he’s playing Wolverine too…

It would be harsh to deny Oh the Emmy after she won the SAG and Globe again. If the academy awards her, then drama is the right place. Moreover, she’s probably at the bottom in guest actress in terms of performance.

I also think that people here sometimes exaggerate the difference between Oh and Comer’s performances in Killing Eve. Personally, I thought in their shared scenes it was obvious Oh was the better one.

Sweetie, 5’3″?! Even 5’7″ Harington is too tall for the role. Anyway. After FOX casting the incredibly blunt and talentless Turner to play one of the key protagonists of the X-Men franchise, it’ll be no surprise that Razzington will get this one. After all they have cast Maisie Williams in the New Mutants movie, so they seem to have a thing for GoT actors but only later will they realise that they’re box office poison, not magnets.

First of all I’ll ignore the whole Razzington thing, as I like Harington as an actor. Second, Harington’s not being cast by the same people who did Fox’s X-Men films, and the MCU’s casting is almost always spot on (if Harington’s being considered for Wolverine, they’re probably gonna make sure he can do it, as they wouldn’t want to screw up one of the most popular comic characters of all time). And third, 5’7 is more accurate than Hugh Jackman’s 6’2 (they originally tried using camera tricks to make him look shorter, but they seemed to give up after awhile). Anyway, if people want to talk about this casting, it should probably be done in a movie forum, so let’s not start a whole big discussion in a forum about the Emmys.

Don’t even bother with this Kacey user. I just realized this is the troll user that keeps coming back.

Only putting this here since the movie doesn’t seem to have a forum. Contrary to the earlier rumors, Kit Harrington is not playing Wolverine, but instead will appear in The Eternals (which is also starring his fellow Game of Thrones cast member and onscreen brother, Richard Madden) as Dane Whitman, also known as Black Knight. I know very little about this character. I know he’s a superhero, and he uses a sword. I’m still holding out hope that Harington’s a villain. It wouldn’t be the first time that the MCU has made a hero a villain. We’ve seen Harington as the good guy for 8 seasons, it’d be nice to let him branch out.

Robb and Jon reunite it seems

As far as I know, their characters aren’t related in the comics, but I can easily see them changing that for the adaptation (It wouldn’t be the first time the MCU has made major changes to obscure characters), cause Madden and Harington look a lot alike. Game of Thrones was often really good at casting people who genuinely look like they’re family (Natalie Dormer and Diana Rigg, Emilia Clarke and Harry Lloyd, Michelle Fairley and Sophie Turner, etc.)
