Gillian Flynn has been totally unlucky with the timing of her projects coming out., Gone Girl, Widows, and now Sharp Objects all missing writing nominations for her and all underperformed at awards. Hopefully she doesn’t compromise the quality of her future work to get a writing nomination cuz her screenplays and stories have been way more thought provoking and interesting and better character studies than a lot of the nominations that get recognized at the Oscars/Emmy.

Poor Fraudicity Huffman, we all now she would have been nominated and a dark horse to win without her legal issues. Truly unfortunate.

God I hate HBO, they could’ve just rush Objects for last year’s Emmys and we would have Emmy winner Amy Adams by now.

It would be a travesty if the Emmys snubbed Chernobyl of a Best Limited Series and Lead Actor win for Jared Harris. Harris was snubbed back in 2012 for his supporting performance in Mad Men!

Homegirl would’ve done a sweep since the Globes wouldn’t have been able to help themselves with SAG/CC in tow (maybe even TCA). They definitely would’ve had writing, supporting actress, and maybe directing/series on lock too. The disdain I have for HBO.

Winner Aaron Paul, Critics’ Choice winner Giancarlo Esposito, Peter Dinklage with a better season and tape than what he won with the year before… Jared Harris was not close to being robbed.

The additional wins Regina King received suggest she’s as competitive as anyone. Although, I think white actresses will rule the female categories while the two boys from When They See Us will take the male categories.

What does Regina King have to do with this?

Also, why are you referring to boys when they are young men?

The same reason that we call them the Broad City girls?  See also the show titled Girls.

EDIT: Not to mention that they play literal boys.

If we’d like to get into a conversation about society, the hegemony of American society, which has historically been (straight, white) men, infantilizes woman by keeping them down while placing men and their masculinity on a pedestal. So in affect, referring to men as boys can counter the gross infantilization of woman by society.

He snub for The Terror stings. It’s one of the most incredible performances matched with great writing that has graced tv in years. There were moments I was watching just for him. He deserves more lead roles tbh. Mad Men barely scratched what he is capable of.

Regarding A Very English Scandal missing series, the British bloc kind of only exists above the line. Patrick Melrose got series with only writing, directing, actor and casting, which is voted on primarily by directors (and producers). The Honourable Woman got series with only writing, directing and actress. I was predicting A Very English Scandal to get series with only writing, directing, acting and score because I thought that it was undeniable there. I had Sharp Objects missing writing and directing, but still edging out A Very English Scandal in casting, so I thought that series would be close, but would ultimately tip in the latter’s favour. I thought that the crafts would kind of abandon Sharp Objects, but it looks like they actually secured its series nomination, as it got into the design and makeup categories unexpectedly, while A Very English Scandal missed music.

I think Chernobyl took part of the British bloc vote too. It’s a British co-production with a British cast. And this is another reason why Chernobyl has a good chance at Series; the British/foreign bloc is likely to line up behind it since there’s no alternative.

Oscar FYC - Lupita Nyong'o & Elisabeth Moss ("Us") - Best Actress & Supporting Actress. It must happen; otherwise the Tethered are coming.

You guys don’t understand that large sections of the acting branch are going to mobilise for Jerome. Whether it’s enough to beat Harris I don’t know, but it will be hard to get more votes than Jerome will get.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

He’s winning. Everyone, and I mean everyone, has singled him out after watching that show. Even queen Lena Headey posted about his flawless performance on Instagram. We know the acting branch obviously adores this show, and the recent trend in this category absolutely favors him. An actor with notable past credits giving a breakthrough performance in an across-the-board nominated series. Plus, he gives the type of performance the TV academy loves.

Harris is great and all, and I guess overdue, but they are rewarding Jerome.
