I just want Michael Kenneth Williams to win he’s been in The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, The Night Of and now When They See Us and has given good to great performances in all of them.

If I were an Emmy voter, I would vote for Asante Blackk in supporting. He deserves as much praises as Jharell Jerome and was better than Michael Kenneth Williams, imo.

Sasha, you are mistaken actually. It is just the entire acting branch that votes on acting.

Lead Actor will definitely boil down to Jerome and Harris. I’m hoping for Jerome.

I mean if Lena Headey’s support means anything so should Sarah Paulson’s, who is actually an Emmy winner, and she clearly stated she loved Harris’ performance on Twitter.

I’m going to be switching back-and-forth between Jerome and Harris until September 22nd. Out of all of the acting categories, this is the hardest to predict.

See also the show titled Girls.

Because it was a show about immature manchildren (adult children?), not women. Otherwise I agree.

Only Jerome is winning, the rest aren’t happening. Unfortunately it’ll be a boring year for limited. When They Bore Us will win miniseries only. Directing will go to Boremora and Writing to Chernobyl. Whishaw is winning supporting actor. Supporting Actress is a toss up, not even my sources can tell me with certainty who’s gonna win. My money’s still on Arquette as consolation for losing lead to Williams who is an unstoppable lock, as I’ve said multiple times. You’re welcome, honeys.

No one knows who is going to win, voting has not finished, and even after that, there is no way to know for sure since the Academy has over 24,000 members and they do not share their votes in a Facebook group. So they people with the “sources” need to cal down.

I do not see why no one is talking about this year mystery – hpw Sharp Objects managed to enter in Best Limited instead of A Very English Scandal when both of them managed to nominated only two actors, but the British and very strong show also has writing and directictin, while the American mediocre (you know my opinion about it, I would have nominated it only for Lead actress and nothing else) show has neither one of them? How this happened? HBO bias? Many people have spoked about it and maybe this is the confirmation.

Because is a great miniseries and people really loved it. Like you always love to say, you can see this in social medias, letterboxd and forums.

Especially for that I am asking, because I have not seen that love on social media, it has very mediocre scores on IMDB and Rotten, on Facebook and Instagram is liked, but not adored. Same goes to forums, there is solid base of haters as well and a lot of people saying how worst it was in comparison to Big Little Lies. The Scanlen love here is also non-existing outside the forum, this is why I never predicted her, I even had Marla Gibbs and Jessie Buckley, but never Scanlen, because she was not worthy of a nomination, in my opinion of course, and young performers have to be really deserving to get it.

Also, if it was so loved, it would have gotten into directing and writing. I still think that this has to do mainly with HBO being so strong and with the fact that English Scandal is the least popular show with big audiences between the six contenders. The British bloc and its limitations is also not a convincing answer for me, British are much more than people who would vote for everything British no matter what.

This series nomination is not deserved, a win for Clarkson would be a travesty and I think that it might not happen. Adams should have been the only nomination for the show in the main categories.

Also, I can’t with the age bias. Every nominee should (ideally!!) have to give a great performance to get nominated, young or old.

Oscar FYC - Lupita Nyong'o & Elisabeth Moss ("Us") - Best Actress & Supporting Actress. It must happen; otherwise the Tethered are coming.

Um, honey, Jerome, Blackk, King, Millie Bore, Garner, Qualley? The delusion in these forums is real. Scanlen did nothing in that mediocrity to deserve a nod just like the rest of the cast. I can’t, honeys..

You’re missing the point. The academy did a great job, but every nominee should have to give a deserving performance, not just young people. I was not referring to the academy, but to Ivo’s comment.

It has a higher IMDb rating than Escape at Dannemora with four times the votes, has the exact same metacritic score as EAD as well, and was given the “Golden Tomato” by Rotten Tomatoes as the best reviewed mini-series/anthology of 2018.  So yeah, I would consider none of that “mediocre” unless you want to say EAD and Fosse/Verdon are just as mediocre. I get the show is polarizing, and it was for sure 5th in the series line-up, but I feel like those who were insisting it wasn’t going to get a series nomination were projecting their own feelings of distaste for the show.

Well, 8.2/10 on imdb with 50k votes isn’t mediocre, trust me. It means it wasn’t loved, but well liked. I agree with your perception of Sharp Objects btw lol, I just never express it on here cause everyone seems to love it and call anyone who didn’t like it tasteless lol. I too would simply nominate it for Lead Actress (and maybe directing).

I meant mediocre for TV show, usually TV shows have much higher scores than movies. I am glad we agree on the rest.

Like I already said, I meant mediocre for a TV show since usually TV shows have much higher scores than movies. And please read more carefully before replying, both me and Reis were discussing audiences scores, I am well aware that critics supposedly like it (they showed zero passion after that, it will win zero awards at TCA, something atypical for “the best reviewed mini-series/anthology of 2018”), the audience score of the show on Rotten is 81, again it is low for a TV show.

However, you are correct about A Very English Scandal, Escape at Dannemora and Fosse/Verdon, but that is because of their low viewership, unfortunately the world is not aware about their existence, F/V and Dannemora don’t even have an audience scores at Rotten… I have yet to see them myself.

And no, I am not projecting my own feelings of distaste for the show, I am showing a clear and real proof – snubbed at both directing and writing. I am completely sure that if Dannemora, F/V and English Scandal were on HBO they would have been much more popular with both audiences and the Academy, also that if Sharp Objects was on Showtime, FX or Amazon, it would have been completely ignored with the exception of Adams.
