I started watching Escape to Dannemora, The Act and Fosse/Verdon (and Succession) simultaneously and I like all of them a lot. I watched the first episode of Dannemora and then I watched the first of The Act and I was blown aways by Patricia Arquette, I completely forgot that she is the same actress, she is that good. Also, I felt in love with Michelle Williams’s performance since the first episode of F/V where she is more supporting to Rockwell, you were not exaggerating at all, she is a Goddess, but the same thing goes to Joey King, she does so much in the first episode of The Act, in my opinion, she is even better than Arquette, she is a revelation and has the hardest role of all of them, what an actress. I also loved Rockwell, he is very transformative, this role is so different form the bad/dumb/weird guys he is famous for. I watched A Very English Scandal recently and I never commented it here, but is also superb, Grant is so underappreciated, Whishaw is a master in showing vulnerability, their first sex scene is one for the ages, funny, dramatic and awkward all at once, like real life really…

I am so impress with Limited this year, we are lucky to live in an year with so much quality. For me Sharp Objects is the only one that is not gem. It will be difficult for voters, but I do not foresee a swept, the quality is too high, Chernobyl and WTSU are masterpieces, I love both of them.

Both Grant and Whishaw should easily win their categories, but A Very English Scandal has much less hype than the other limited nominees and I don’t think Amazon is pushing it that hard. A shame if neither is rewarded for such great work.

I am looking at the prediction and I must conclude that HBO’s check to the pundits must have bounced?

How is it possible for Chernobyl to lose every award on the telecast?? That’s what it is currently predicted to do. That is insane to me and makes no sense. Based on it’s quality, popularity, and reviews it should win at least 3-4.

I mean if WTSU is gonna take all the top prizes can you at least give Chernobyl a pity win in supporting actress or something?

    What is going on? SAD!

Chernobyl was being predicted for Writing last time I checked. And as far as my opinion goes, I think it’s also taking Lead Actor.

Totally, both of them and the show itself (and the gorgeous music) are exquisite, I really hate the fact that HBO robbed the show’s spot on best Best Limited Series with Sharp Objects, a show ignored by both writers and directors..

That’s GoldDerby being out of touch with reality

FYC: Drama Series: Game of Thrones, Comedy Series: Barry, Limited Series: Chernobyl, Drama Lead Actor: Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Drama Lead Actress: Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Drama Directing: Miguel Sapochnik for The Long Night (Game of Thrones), Drama Writing: Jed Mercurio for Episode 1 (Bodyguard)

A Very English Scandal may have gotten the directing/writing noms before Sharp Objects (the extra spots undoubtedly lost in the Fosse/Verdon over-performance) and the latter was obviously last on the ballot, but SO got 5 below-the-line nominations versus the former’s 0. So, it’s clear it got in on having more support amongst the rest of the branches to overcome the 2 major snubs than AVES was ever going to have, not because of an HBO bias.

My two cents (not like they matter though lol)

Chernobyl > Sharp Objects > Escape at Dannemora > When They See Us > Fosse/Verdon

Darlings, Michelle Williams is NOT winning. You’ll see either Arquette or Adams getting a dildo for her vagina.

LENA HEADEY hasn't got an Emmy for Game of Thrones????? Emmys you need to win her right now!!

Lena Headey ("Game of Thrones") for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

If Lena Headey doesn't win the Emmy, I'm leaving GoldDerby forever.

She’s not winning here at GoldDerby awards. That’s a certainty. Amy is. But SHE’S WINNING THE EMMY!!!

Lamy Adams awards dream for Sharp Objects died when HBO held it off until the fall. She would have won against Regina last year.

Michelle will deservedly win with only PAT ARQUETTE and her piece of paper a threat.

This is an excellent explanation, the first one that makes sense to me, but still, I think that HBO bias helped Sharp Objects with the guild beyond the lines, it helped make them watch the shows. A Very English Scandal is better than Sharp Objects in those regards as well (the writing and the directing are a thousand times superior than those of SP, the fact that Dannemora and F/V got 2 noms and SP just further demonstrates how unimpressed were writers and directors with SP), but it was not seen by many people.
