Sorry Queen Latifah, but with this season of Fargo, Kirsten Dunst is pretty much a lock to win the Best Actress in a Miniseries or Movie category. Same goes for Jean Smart, possibly Patrick Wilson and almost DEFINITELY the Best Miniseries or TV Movie category.
Meanwhile, in basically one of the biggest travesties to ever occur at award shows, The Leftovers will probably be ignored even though it’s the best thing to happen to TV this year (along with Fargo of course)November 23, 2015 at 10:11 am #365627
Yeah but I wish it would sweep them in right category which is DRAMA SERIES. DRAMA SERIES.

You mean Fargo should be considered a Drama Series not a miniseries? Yeah, I guess that’s true, but might as well get used to all these anthology series (AHS, True Detective, Fargo etc.) being permanently considered in the Miniseries or TV movie categories.November 23, 2015 at 10:17 am #365629
Fargo has new characters and new plotlines and new settings in each new season you can’t say the same thing for a drama series like House of Cards. It is a miniseries.November 23, 2015 at 10:19 am #365630
Every other award show needs to do the same thing SAG did and move Fargo into Drama series.November 23, 2015 at 10:26 am #365631
At this point. Yes.

I don’t understand your problem with AHS and Fargo/True Detective people. They are limited series, they have a storyline for one season and one season only why would they compete in drama categories with the likes of Game of Thrones, House of Cards, The Good Wife etc?
If they didn’t want to use their brands they could’ve easily choose different titles and you’d have to shut the f up, so the best thing for you to do it still shut up.
And I agree with the OP I believe they’ll sweep Globes better than Angels in America did back in the day.November 23, 2015 at 10:43 am #365633
Second season of Fargo uses the same characters it used in first season but this time they’re played by different actors because it’s a prequel. So yeah it’s pretty much a drama series.
And KylieistBoi, do us all a big favor and go fuck yourself.November 23, 2015 at 10:51 am #365634
I am actively rooting against Fargo at EVERY Awards show. Patrick Wilson is being wasted horribly, Nick Offerman’s character is annoying as all hell, and the plots are as messy and convoluted as The Amazing Spider-Man 2! Also, it’s ssooooooo boring and pretentious! None of these characters light a candle to Lester or Lorne last year!!!November 23, 2015 at 11:48 am #365635
That’s just diciulous. Just because you don’t have this uber-mysterious, threatening-as-hell dread-inducing character like Lorne Malvo doesn’t mean there isn’t AMAZING characterization happening. I mean, Peggy (Kirsten Dunst) has to be the most interesting portrayal of a sociopath I have ever seen, Lou is badass as fuck, Bokeem Woodbine is insanely awesome and set against the backdrop of the Reagan years, the whole narrative is informative and makes complete sense.November 23, 2015 at 12:30 pm #365636

The Reagan references are unnecessary and made to pander (pointlessly, unlike in The Normal Heart, where they had purpose) to the liberal fanbase, and everyone in the show is either a complete idiot (Ed Blomquist or Nick Offerman’s character) or bland as all hell (Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson, and the guy who plays Bear). Can’t you tell how convoluted this story is?! How come the bodies were at the Waffle Hut for so long? You know they had fingerprinting, back then, right?! Last episode reminded me of how in The Phantom Menace there were 4 climaxes, and in Fargo there were 3, w/ Bear at the police station, Mike Milligan (that poem made no sense ((as in I could only understand about 70% of what the fuck he was saying)) at the Gerdhardt home, and Dom invading the Blomquist home! I dare you to defend those stupid UFO’s!!! And SO MANY of these split-screens are completely pretentious and unnecessary? The shot of Ted Danson sitting in the chair and Mike Milligan sitting in the car? WHAT DOES THAT DO FOR THE STORY IN ANY WAY?!?! And the sister of Dom and Bear? She was horribly cast! I can’t even remember her name, and I only realized last episode she was Dom’s sister and not his DAUGHTER!!! She’s way too young, even though my mom, who watches the show w/ me, knew who she was, even she admitted that such an error made sense as to how I might have mistaken her for Dom’s daughter. I am SERIOUSLY considering quitting this show after how consistently terrible it’s been. ;(November 23, 2015 at 12:38 pm #365637

And as Sasha pointed out, it even has the same characters and setttings. Every season of a drama has new plot lines.

Oh, and Jean Smart shows no range at all. Literally any actress could have played her part just as well, if not better. She shouldn’t even be nominated for any awards, let alone WIN. She’s perfectly serviceable, that’s all. Sorry about the block writing above.
The IPad won’t let me take breaks in between paragraphs, on goldderby at least, so if it doesn’t look that neat, can’t help it. 😐November 23, 2015 at 12:48 pm #365640

Nice! Hopefully the 3rd season is much better and more cohesive/coherent w/ better characters and dialogue! Here’s hoping!! 🙂
