“Battle of Blackwater”. Amazing…just AMAZING. Cersei being drunk and bitchy to Sansa and then almost poisoning her own child to save him from Stannis. Good god, she’s great.August 9, 2019 at 3:02 am #1203017000

I know people tend to rate season 5 lowly outside of Hardhome but Headey is really good when the High Sparrow confronts her in the episode prior (‘The Gift’). It’s mainly reactive acting but it’s very skilful.

Mukund, I love you. This is THE best thread ever. Someone needs to tag Thatcher (I have no idea how to, lol!). I don’t think I can rank them because she’s always phenomenal, but I just have to go with The Winds of Winter. It was such a big moment for her character: destroying her enemies, seeking revenge, becoming queen. She did so much with just her face; that look she gives when the sept blows up is PRICELESS.
That said, Blackwater, The Bells, Mother’s Mercy and The Dragon and the Wolf are just as spectacular. My god, what an actress.
Emmy voters must bend the knee to Lena Headey & Emilia Clarke for "Game of Thrones." It's their last chance to award them. Make it happen.August 9, 2019 at 4:07 am #1203017058
Seasons 2&5 are Cersei’s most “complete” seasons both in terms of clearly defined arcs and the vitality of the performance living up to them. She also had the best on-screen partners in those that elevated her performance. I think season 1 is my least favorite in which she was not fully comitted to uncovering the humanity under the coldness of the character yet.
My favorite quieter moments are the aforementioned High Sparrow scene and her reaction to the Tommen’s betrayal in 6×8.August 9, 2019 at 5:20 am #1203017128
The Winds of Winter by far.August 9, 2019 at 9:19 am #1203017446
The Winds of Winter, obviously. But like Mafro said, I might have given my vote to The Gift if given the opportunity.August 9, 2019 at 9:44 am #1203017488
This is so difficult…August 9, 2019 at 11:42 am #1203017616
DARLINGS, NOW THIS IS A THREAD.
Queen Lena Headey has DELIVERED a mindblowing performance through 8 seasons. Talented, amazing, brilliant, show-stopping, never-the-same, magnificent, outstanding, incredible…
Every episode mentioned above was an acting MASTERCLASS, but I have to go with The Winds of Winter. What an iconic performance. Emmy voters deserved death for not awarding her and choosing Oldie Smith (I have to laugh).
LENA HEADEY hasn't got an Emmy for Game of Thrones????? Emmys you need to win her right now!!
Lena Headey ("Game of Thrones") for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
If Lena Headey doesn't win the Emmy, I'm leaving GoldDerby forever.August 9, 2019 at 1:08 pm #1203017745
The Winds of Winter, followed closely by Mother’s Mercy.August 9, 2019 at 1:18 pm #1203017762
I am going for the hidden gem:
I literally waited two years to see this Cersei bitch get her punishment and Lena delivered. From her confession scene where you can see how she is playing the game the best she could to her crying to her ultimate legendary face acting in her walk.
There’s a moment where she is stopped and then looks up to see the Red Keep. If you don’t know what that means, you never got Cersei and what she represented.
Finally you see her returning and that last shot is fucking haunting.
So y’all bitches must rewatch and show some respect.
Emmys 2015: I like Uzo Aduba, but WTF. NonsenseAugust 9, 2019 at 1:45 pm #1203017788
The Winds of Winter is my favorite Cersei episode, but her best performance is Mother Mercy. And it is so good watch her scenes earlier in the serie. Season 2 and 3 are incredible for all Lannister family cast.August 9, 2019 at 2:20 pm #1203017811
Mother’s Mercy is probably her best, but everything else that happens in the episode (“you need a bad p****” and Myrcella’s death, the butchery of Stannis’ storyline) drags the amazing King’s Landing sequence down.
