As I said before, I switched to WTSU all Limited Series categories except Directing. I think Directors’ Branch will give Chernobyl its only win of the night. Oh, well.

I actually think the exact opposite is gonna happen lol.

People giving Chernobyl just one win or nothing at all are confusing me.

And as we’ve seen with GOT over the years (and probably this year), a large amount of acting branch support at nominations stage doesn’t necessarily translate to wins, so I am slightly worried for When They See Us, especially with vote splitting in 3 of the 4 categories. All I’m asking for is a Jerome win.

    Chernobyl – Series, Writing

WTSU – Lead Actor, Supporting Actor, Directing

    Fosse/Verdon – Lead Actress

    Sharp Objects – Supporting Actress

When They See Us won casting. It’s probably a sign that it’ll win an acting category.

I used to think Chernobyl would sweep the big night minus Lead Actress but after that Casting win I’m less convinced. I shared in a previous category that every Limited Series winner in this new voting system had won Casting before completely or partially sweeping the Primetime Emmy night.

I see your point but was there any other limited series like Chernobyl? A series that won so many creative awards but still lost Out. Limited Series? After winning seven times it seems like the voters see it as the better series overall.

Chernobyl could still win series even if it only takes writing. It’s not the most probable outcome though.

I don’t know that actually, But your point makes a lot of sense, I’m not gonna lie.

When They See Us was always going to win casting. I still think Chernobyl takes the big prize and it should, considering it’s probably the biggest limited series of all time.

I can see Chernobyl going down the Band of Brothers route at least, meaning winning the top prize and then at least either directing or writing. I feel fairly confident that Chernobyl will have the most support from all branches except maybe the acting branch’s.

I doubt DuVernay is winning Directing, she’s probably more likely to win Writing and I’m not even sure about that.

Really though, even if Chernobyl is probably winning, WTSU was never super competitive in tech categories and Chernobyl’s sheer nomination count was already evidence of that. I think we’re in the same position we were before with Chernobyl being the likely choice but WTSU having enough possible support to stage an upset.
