Inspired by @methaddiction ‘s thread on flawless acted scenes on television, I was interested in what people would classify as “flawless episodes of television”.
You can classify them however you want whether through their writing, their acting, direction or their use of their genre! Personally I’m incorporating all of those in my own and crediting four because I’m a weakling.
Mad Men (“The Suitcase”)
The Leftovers (“The Book of Nora”)
I May Destroy You (“Ego Death”)
The People vs OJ Simpson (“Marcia Marcia Marcia”)

April 24, 2021 at 2:53 am #1204218692So many, but very few, for me, come close to “You Get What You Need” from Big Little Lies. Those final 10 minutes are just that good.

No matter how crap Lost became, but this one will always be in my heart.

In Comedy I’ll go with some Friends classics like “The One With The Embryos” or “The One Where Everybody Finds Out”.

Great choice!
I don’t know whether I’d include “Far Away Places” on a list of flawless Mad Men episodes personally but that’s rather because there are so many of them lol. I personally also found “Lost Horizons”, “Person to Person”, “A Guy Walks Into an Advertising Agency” (should have won Lesli Linka Glatter her directing Emmy) and “The Other Woman” to be quite flawless too.
