Amy Adams better pray this comes out in JuneJuly 24, 2018 at 3:54 pm #1202592991
As a fan of Bob Fosse ever since Cabaret, I hope Sam Rockwell can do the man justice. I didn’t even know about Gwen Verdon until now, but Michelle Williams is also very talented and I hope she will do excellent work with whatever she is given. I hope the writers don’t make this make this series TOO historically inaccurate, because this really does sound like a cool and interesting story that isn’t as well-known as many other Hollywood “biopics” like Feud: Bette and Joan.

Michelle Willims will have an Emmy before she gets an Oscar. Never saw that coming.July 24, 2018 at 4:34 pm #1202593013
I want this to come out this cycle so we have Adams Vs. Williams Vs. Arquette. Maybe not such an easy walk for Adams after all?July 24, 2018 at 4:38 pm #1202593021
Shooting this fall, so spring 2019, I suppose? Adams has competition.July 24, 2018 at 8:28 pm #1202593171
What an interesting Emmy race it would be if we have two film actresses who are both overdue for Oscars go head-to-head. At least it seems easier for Amy Adams to win the Golden Globe at this point.July 24, 2018 at 10:40 pm #1202593244

I’ll check it out because of Williams but I can’t help but think this won’t exactly be a ratings hit for FX at the same time.July 25, 2018 at 8:22 am #1202593383
Sam Rockwell bouta kill thisJuly 25, 2018 at 9:03 am #1202593406
I really am curious about the Williams casting because Gwen Verdon is not just considered a Broadway triple threat, but she really was one of the best dancers ever on Broadway and to be captured on screen. She also had a warmth in her performances. I really am a fan of Williams but I don’t know if she can capture the essence of Verdon. I think Rockwell will make a compelling Fosse though.
I wonder if they’ll recreate this scene:
