Yeah, I think the actor/character’s popularity  (and to some extent their competence as an actor) has an effect on not only their biling but on to the screentime that they are being given.

Arya had similarly short amount of material in books 4&5 and her training process could have just been cut to the case like Bran’s, were she not a fan-favourite. And of course they have completely altered Sansa’s storyline to give her much more to do than what’s been written on the paper. Isaac Hempstead-Wright is simply not a draw, and neither is Bran, so they could afford to sideline him.

^Sansa dies in the books? Ik she’s different on them and does actually whore herself out in order to survive rather than whine all day.

I’m referring to the original outline of the story, way before book 1 was even written.

Five central characters will make it through all three volumes, however, growing from children to adults and changing the world and themselves in the process. In a sense, my trilogy is almost a generational saga, telling the life stories of these five characters, three men and two women. The five key players are Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and three of the children of Winterfell, Arya, Bran, and the bastard Jon Snow. All of them are introduced at some length in the chapters you have to hand.

GRRM also admitted that Bran was the hardest character to write for him since he’s both 10 years old and crippled so the directions he could go with the character has always been very limited. And I think most fans would agree that his chapters are not the most fun to read. That does not necessarily mean that he is irrelevant though, the saga has started with his chapter and may also end with him.

But if we’re only talking show-wise yeah, he very well may have been reduced to a plot device, just like many other characters on the show.

Speaking of credits. I always felt that Alfie Allen is credited kinda low and he should be right after Maisie and Sophie or at the very least after Liam Cunningham but certainly above Nathalie Emmanuel. He’s obviously a big character, has had a big arc, is the main draw of House Greyjoy and he’s been present throughout the entire series from the very first episode of the very first season.

Zurik’s videos are great. My favorite: Blood of My Blood . For me, it is the prove about how much Dany deserves a great end.

And Thatcher liked their own post, which is kind of sad.

    I’m allowed, darling. I’m Thatcher.

LENA HEADEY hasn't got an Emmy for Game of Thrones????? Emmys you need to win her right now!!
If Lena Headey doesn't win the Emmy, I'm leaving GoldDerby forever.

Three-day wait anxiety attacks are kicking in.

Damn, why do I do this to myself? I just don’t see how Dany’s team, the Starks and the Lannisters aren’t all losing someone crucial. Tragedy will be shared even.

Fuck it, I am doing a dragon altar and praying to the Lord of Light.

The new Game of Thrones soundtrack has been released. Was hoping for more of Jenny of Oldstones, but I guess not. I was really liking The Weeknd/SZA song and then Travis Scott came in and his verse lol. Loving Nightshade by The Lumineers, though.

It seems that this album has been specifically labelled ‘music inspired by…’ rather than the soundtrack to the season. It’s more akin to the 2 mixtapes they released a few years ago. I doubt almost any of this music will find its way onto the episodes themselves. If I remember correctly, there were some GOT episodes that ended with modern music/songs scored over final credits, but that’s not been the case for quite a while now (or at least I can’t remember them doing it for a long time).

Saying that Matt Bellamy’s Pray has been remixed to include a certain character’s voice at the start and end of the song. If you’re inclined to think of this addition as a potential spoiler, it could give a rather large number of clues to events about to occur, if perhaps this particular song is going to be featured during the show itself! Matt Bellamy/Muse’s music certainly lends itself far more readily to being used within an episode than SZA/The Weeknd’s song!

In addition, the writing credits for that song are the only one on the album to include Weiss and Benioff, as well as Bellamy, indicating that the spoken dialogue is directly from them. Interesting stuff – could D&D be looking for a Best Song Emmy (they also contributed to Jenny’s Song), on top of all the others they’re pushing for?!

“Power Is Power” is amazing. Get that Original Song Emmy! It’ll be eligible for Grammys as well. Wish “Jenny of Oldstones” were on there too.
